Myshev is feinting right jabs from the hip while scurrying backward. Petrov drills him with a right hand on the body (he's orthodox now). Again. Myshev counters with a pendulous left on the ball sack. The ref calls time, motions Petrov to a neutral corner, and docks a point from Myshev, very bruskly and efficiently, businesslike. Time in called after not even 4 seconds. Myshev now flurrying off the right jab, standing in and slugging for the first time really all day. Petrov gets a little randy for the brawl he spent the previous seven frames waiting for, and leaves himself open to a huge jaw-jacking right hook that causes the crowd and commentators to coo appreciatively. Petrov is swinging wide rights at the body, missing by a mile as Myshev simply twinkletoes away. Rough and dirty finish as Myshev darts in and out, throwing lefts at the head, and then clubbing own on Petrov when he covers up, landing a few elbows/forearms/rabbit punches but with no further punitive action; the ref letting them hash things out in the final moments.

Vladimir is a decent prospect and this was a good learning fight, allowing him to face and surmount a little adversity. (but he was never in much real danger as Petrov has zero stoppages in his 10 pro bouts)

His face is all marked up as he gives his victory interview in the middle of the ring, so clearly Petrov exposed some areas he needs to work on - but he's only 22 and clearly has the work ethic. He is a member of TMT Russia, having been in attendance for a seminar taught by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2017 and meeting him afterwards, impressing him enough to receive an open invite to come train in the U.S. Explains why his style is a sort of southpaw PBF homage.

Ivan can hold up his chin, he brought a game attitude here and looked to have a realisic chance at springing the upset in the middle rounds (3rd-5th) but no shame in being outmatched by the unbeaten A-side on the road.

 

They bring out a military drumming corp who lay down a sick beat for a few minutes, and then present a crystal boxing glove award to ...a few short chubby middle-aged bespectacled nerds in suits from the audience?

Guessing they're promoters or something.

 

They're now doing Sparq testing, or something like it, with a bunch of random dudes - and chicks - wearing a single glove (on their right fist) and walking up to a suspended heavy bag with sensors that measure their power, each taking a few turns whacking it full-bore. Why is this part of the show?

 

"Real Strike", is their proprietary tech's name.

A huge musclebound guy nets a high score of 627, and then a tall skinny girl walks up and registers a 176. She pouts but then sets her expression, goes into 'beast' mode, and...gets a 151. Then finishes with a 143. Pathetic.

Now an old geezer walks up and just starts LAYING IN with a nonstop shoeshine for a full minute. Okay, so this is a shot-counting exercise? He gets 119. Not bad. A girl young enough to be his daughter then only gets a 90.

 

Back to power testing, a medium built guy walks up and takes it VERY seriously. He gets a disproportionate amount of applause, so the crowd must know him, celebrity of some kind? He winds up, twisting his entire body around 180°, elbows flared, and lets rip with a looping right...and scores 386kg (which translates into 850 lbs of presure). He takes a second rip at it after doing half a dozen massive wind-up twists, and...gets literally exactly 386 again. The ref standing by holding the bag steady between strikes just shrugs at him. This is hilarious.

Then a scrawny twerp comes up directly after him and casually gets a 323 without any preamble.

 

Nikolai Valuev, Denis Lebedev, and DMITRY PIROG in the house! They are giving speeches, Grandmaster up first after receiving a very warm reception from the audience. Would kill for a translator...

 

I barely recognized Pirog tbh, weird to see how much older he is than when last we saw him.

SNV looks exactly like he used to.

...and Lebedev, well, he only retired a couple of years ago. More or less the same, has gotten paunchy though.
