This or that. I don't think he can be effective against Bivol.

    Bivol by UD.

I don't even understand its threadworthiness. It's not Bigfoot, as a statement.

I get the impression that Gvozdyk doesn't care too much for Beterbiev but I also know he's one of the most honest fighters out there and we also know that Adonis was a murderous puncher who had devastating one punch HL reel KO power.

But as others have said, there are different types of power and there are also different types of punchers and KO artists.

Adonis was like a snake waiting to strike with one precise well timed deadly shot, whereas Beterbiev has extremely heavy hands and just bludgeons you into defeat with shot after shot

He can time you and walk you into one big shot though and look at how much power he generates from a short distance

But he usually just does this

Prime for prime, I don't think Adonis would last long at all against Beterbiev

Fighters alway give more props to guys they beat, even often saying their best opponents or hardest fights were in winning performances.

Both of these gents have bone cracking power. The distinction and differences in their power has been well put in several other replies here. I would agree with others who say Adonis appears to have more “lights out” power, while Beterbiev has more of a thudding heavy handed power.

Beterbiev would certainly have put a beat down on Stevenson, who ducked Kovalev his entire career.

Beterbiev loaded up to stop Joe Smith, Yarde and Callum Smith. All 3 guys were taking the clubbing shots. Then the first time Beterbiev loads up on a haymaker and lands the fight is over.

True. You don't need much power to hurt people with rabbit shots like Beterbiev usually does.

Maybe he does but Gvozdyk isn't a reliable source. These statements always have to be taken with at least a pinch of salt.

Gvozdyk said that Canelo would beat Beterbiev, he may well have said the same about Bivol (he was Canelo's sparring partner for the Bivol fight).

Then there's the fact he's talking negatively about fighters from a nation that his nation is at war with.

That's on top of Stevenson being his best victim and Beterbiev (who seems to be at least somewhat abrasive, if not very) being his conqueror, someone who retired him for years in his prime.

He loads up on shots when he wants to but his style isn't to try and KO you with one big shot

He timed Yarde with one big shot here and he hurts him badly. He could do this much more often than he does

He did it to Joe Smith numerous times but Smith's tactics were suicidal and he made it easy for him

If Adonis's punch is like an anesthetic, Beterbiev's punch is like a hammer.

Ehhh that's revisionist history. Both hated each other, so they didn't fight. I remember this very well because it made NO sense to me.

In general bigger punchers are not better boxers. Case in point Wilder.

Stevenson used to load up a lot more but now he's more of an arm puncher. So it depends which version we compare.

The 'who hits harder' thing is always pretty unreliable with these boxers. We just came off a run of Chisora being the hardest hitting opponent.

Beterbiev is not a one punch KO artist

He has very heavy hands, every punch thrown is very heavy and it breaks your resistance down. He doesn't need to load up either, it's just effortless efficiency whereas many KO artist wait to frame you in the perfect spot and then land the perfect punch.
