it makes perfect sense what he said. beterbiev is an accumulation guy and a thudding power in both hands guy, he isnt usually a one punch KO type

that doesnt mean you cant have a huge KO ratio. vitali K also wasnt a one punch KO guy but an accumulation guy with a high KO ratio

Not really following what the issue is with what Gvodzyk is saying here - Stevenson's left was a deadly weapon - but he had to find you with it.

Beterbiev seems to have cinder blocks for hands, really heavy, but as others have noted, he doesn't go looking for a one punch KO, but every punch even from 4-6 inches does damage.

I don't think it's hard to see what Gvodzyk is saying here - he is favouring Beterbiev to stop Bivol after all!

Personally, I think the Stevenson fight took something vital from Gvodzyk, in multiple ways, both from what he took and what he dished out and the resulting impact on Adonis.

Stephenson’s power did not give Gvozdyk his first defeat and by stoppage,Stephenson,s power did not force Gvozdyk to take a break of over 3 year out of his career,Stephenson’s power did not stop him from winning again after fighting him,no this was all Beterbiev and his power !

That's not crazy at all. Adonis had massive power in his straight left.

They always say the guy they beat hits harder, true. But in this case it may be true. It's just that Beterbiev hit him more than Stevenson.

It's really not that hot of a take, especially from someone that has fought both guys. I think people are forgetting just how vicious a puncher Adonis Stevenson was. As flawed and one dimensional as Stevenson was at times there’s no denying that he was arguably one of the hardest puncher at LHW. He’d lose to Beterbiev but as far as single one shot power goes Stevenson has the edge on that.

I agree, as far as single shots, I think Adonis was probably really, really up there in the rafters with all time elites.

I have no doubt in my mind that Adonis was the hardest LHW hitter of this most recent generation.

Interesting take. I believe it though, Stevenson's power was crazy. He just wasn't a great boxer due to a late start.

Better boxer puncher ≠ harder puncher

Does it really matter. If AB's power was enough to do the damage it needed to in order to accomplish the goal, who cares if there is someone else that hits harder.

why are people criticizing Gvozdyk? He is right. Stevenson was a huge puncher but also someone who was one dimensional.

Gvozdyk picked Beterbiev to win so if he was biased against Beterbiev, why is he picking him to win?

As others have said, it's quite believable. Stevenson had a huge straight left which Gvozdyk actually got caught and rocked by, in a fight he mostly dominated otherwise.

Beterbiev is much more heavy handed but I don't think he hit Gvozdyk with any single shot as hard as Stevenson's big left.

This means nothing - its just self praise. Gvodzyk beat an old Stevenson and got stopped and ruined by Beterbiev. So praising Stevenson is indirectly praising himself.

It doesnt takw a genius to realize Beterbiev stopped and ruined Gvodzyk not Stevenson...so Beter clearly the strong and more powerful fighter

Beterbiev has legions of weirdo fanboys who like to defend him. It's very odd.
