Poor Felix, he's a great fighter who's gonna find out what taking on the greatest pound for pound fighter in history will mean. Ray by 10th round ko if Tito can go that far.
Love Trinidad, but Ray Robinson is simply all wrong for him. That upright stance, lack of great head movement , and average chin would end up disastrous for him. After getting rocked , maybe dropped , Robinson would nuke Trinidad with in 8rds.
I picked Robinson on points. Most went for the KO ( which could happen. ) While I believe that Tito would be horribly outboxed, I think he was durable and savvy enough to make it to the cards
Robinson close points win. If Trinidad was a monster welterweight in his day he'd be a nightmare in Robinsons. If Robinson were around in Trinidads era he'd be losing to Hopkins too. Sugar Ray Robinson vs Oscar Da La Hoya would be competitive
Robinson dominates everyone on the Tito era. With Hopkins, Hopkins may win one of three or four but Robinson has his number too in a 3 or 4 fight series. I love Tito, my paisano, but there is no way he beats Robinson. Robinson in 6.
Tito was only stopped once in his career and that was at middleweight in the 12th round against B-Hop. So going the distance with Robinson at 147 isn’t impossible. It’s not as if no one’s ever gone to the cards with him before
I never saw Robertson fight but I heard Bert Sugarland talk about him. So, I'ma say probably nobody went the distance with him until he moved up to heavyweight. My uncle had ESPN Classic on one night that I was over there. Meanwhile, I know we both know Trinidad needed to enter the ring with a partner to get his accolades. Without Tobago, this modern day tag team ish, boxers today stand no chance against the fighter's of the past. You had to be a somebody just to be a nobody back then. They had tons of percentages more higher testosterone for a reason.
Saying Oscar would be competitive with SRR is downright embarrassing. Last time I checked, Oscar got his ass kicked at 147 by a very poor imitation of Robinson named Shane. Oscar had trouble with Oba Carr, but he's gonna be competitive with Sugar Ray f***king Robinson, huh? This forum has declined so much. Anyway, to answer what should be very obvious... Trinidad loses. Big.
Hi Guys. This matchup is pretty much a no brainer, maybe a better question would be, could he last the distance, I mean no disrespect to anyone, I really don't, and I am not taking aim at this post, Devon has shown his mettle, and is a poster that I always have time for, but some matchup's are really not up for debate, maybe it's me, but I like it when the fighters are slightly comparable, when I have to put my thinking cap on, when I am truly interested in others posters views and opinions, and where I have what I think is the winner, and good, interesting, knowledgeable, posts tempt me to change my mind, that keeps the forum interesting in my opinion.... stay safe guys, chat soon. Mike.
