‘The Gloves are off’ ‘the round table’ is there an American version?

The gloves are off in the uk is the only part of the build up I can be bothered with.
Sack the pressers, media workouts nah not for me, weigh ins nah mate, face offs staredowns pfff these are all standard requirements, obligations I get that.

Question for US fight fans, is there anything similar over there? And isn’t it time they were mandatory as part of pre fight publicity?

You realise that Sky and Matchroom copies their format from HBO...

HBO was bull****. They didn’t allow you to watch the videos in Europe and PPV prices, promotion, commentators, etc. we’re ridiculous

England is doing much better with boxing.

Eddie Hearn saves the boxing in the USA, and I’m not an Eddie Hearn fan and I’m not British

The discussion was about the face off / Gloves are Off format in boxing. It’s not a discussion about Hearn or what British boxing is about generally...

I didn’t realise thanks for the education, would you agree that this format should be a requirement for a fight? Iam biased as I think it’s awsome, I noticed Joshua and povetkin didn’t have one. Thanks man, did RJJ ever do one? Respect

Yeah defo. I think Sky overkill it to an extent. They even had Higgins and Hearn do one before Joshua-Parker. Needs to be saved for mega fights otherwise it loses its appeal.

Also needs a brilliant facilitator. Nelson doesn’t cut it. Stick Big Kugan in there.

That’s an interesting thought think Iam the opposite, I want to see every fighter face their challenger intellectually, I love to see the fighters knowlage put to the test by their foe. And having to handle the pressure.
I thought Higgins Hearn was fantastic, Higgins is such an odd character, how is he involved in championship boxing?
My favourites (without being aware of HBO original) were not the Mano a Mano gloves are off but the heavyweight and middleweight specials. Kugan is awsome love ifl and love to see him do the hosting, but I think his soft natured interview style wouldn’t fit. Kugans awkward interview style is what makes ifl not so sure it would translate to GAO

Eddie's shows in America have been rank rotten. And it ain't getting much better with Miller vs Charr/Oquendo and Hooker/Coyle lined up. He isn't even willing to have Katie Taylor fight Serrano for 3 more fights yet, and no one cares about women's boxing.

Good fight, but even that was HBO and not DAZN.

That's been his best fight yet.

They just started, it’s gonna be better from next year with Canelo, Joshua, GGG etc.

At least much better than Showtime or ESPN

Boxing is on low point in the States, even if the fans are not willing to admit that.

I wasn’t sure myself like, I trust it tho.
When the last decent US card, that had universal apeal? Apart from main event? US cards are main event and filler fights, from an outsiders POV and I stop up every weekend to watch.
Over here the undercards have more appeal and seem to be more inclusive and more part of the whole card.
Eddie is doing good things for boxing fans over there, and here.
He has no concern for any of his fighters tho and it’s scary that it goes so unnoticed by so many.
Look at his treatment of Kell brook
