ANTHONY JOSHUA is close to splitting from Sky Sports and signing a mega-money deal with streaming app DAZN.

former heavyweight world champ has been with the broadcasters for all of his professional career.

But that contract expired after the September

SunSport understands he has been the subject of a bidding war since.

In 2021, London-based DAZN poached Matchroom promoter

away from Sky with a £100million warchest.

Joshua’s UK rights were not part of that package.

However, DAZN do show his fights elsewhere around the world.

Defeat for Joshua will significantly harm his brand and reputation and drop him well out of the world title picture.

But a comeback victory will make him once again one of the biggest names in global sport and be a huge coup for DAZN.

Sky Sports were frontrunners to secure his signature again up until a couple of weeks ago when DAZN felt the race was lost.

But a sudden swing has now put the Len Blavatnik-owned app in the driving seat and an announcement could come as early as next week.

Looking forward to getting Joshua v Usyk as part of my £7.99/month subscription as I was specifically told PPV was dead and there would be no PPV on this channel.

Bad decision, this makes me think he has very few fights left. I thought he signed a 10 fight deal or something with Sky Sports recently.

Anyway, the problem for DAZN is that even though it will attract a lot more UK subscribers, they don't have the content for them to continue with their subscription.

Bad move. He's one defeat away from being yesterday's news.

    (Not really I know)

He's just helping out his buddy Hearn startup DAZN UK PPV. He hasa few big fights left yet even in defeat and will get heavily overpaid I would imagine

If does happen without PPV and Hearn sticks to what originally said then it really would be ...game changed

Unfortunately there's more chance of you becoming a Wilder fan than that happening.

The OP lifted that info from a report in The Sun. I never read that ****, it's drivel. Three sentences in and the word warchest was used. ALways the same pish ha ha ha.

I think Canelo showed there's not much point signing long term deals when you can play your hand two fights at a time. If there's a DAZN deal I can't see it being beyond 2-3 fights or 2 years (whichever happens first)

Yeah Canelo has definitely shown the others the way to play the game if you have the power to do so. Play all of the TV companies and promoters against each other and reap the benefits.

I feel it’s only a matter of time before the Canelo and Hearn love fest comes to an abrupt end.
