Come one come all, literally all join in on the fun this is the type of thread to stir some proper forum shenanigans to close the end of the year. Bowe was a step too far I’ll admit but I think Lyle is perfect. 12 rounds.
I'd favor James Toney here (unlike your other thread, where I favored Bowe). Lyle's best win by far is Earnie Shavers, who isn't a defensive wizard like James Toney, and doesn't have a good chin like James Toney. On the other hand, Ron Lyle lost twice to defensive wizard Jimmy Young in his prime. James Toney wins by knockout.
I agree with your assessment. I also think that unlike a lot of the guys Lyle was used to fighting James wouldn’t be squaring up, up close he’d have a dedicated body attack coming off counters, I think Ronnie would have the wind knocked out of him and down the stretch he’d be KO’d if he tried to stay on top of James, which he would IMO.
If you put a gun to my head, I would probably go with Lyle, as being a bit more proven at this level. Decision win I think.
