Double standards? I don't know how much Canelo pays Eddy Reynoso, and it doesn't matter really. This is about Sanchez and Golovkin having a fall out over greed. Who is being greedy, the fighter that landed a contract worth more money than he can spend or the trainer who is unhappy because he's getting 2% instead of his usual and standard 10%.
Obviously Sanchez is greedier since 2% is much closer to what trainers get from such a big purse than 10%.
Canelo hasn't made $365,000,000 from the DAZN deal. The deal was worth that much over 11 fights. Presumably, there were some performance related clauses in there too, like how he has to keep winning, a split decision or a draw will impact his next purse and so on. In other words. he has to to look in excellent form to get the full money. He may just do a Mayweather, take on former champions way passed their best but still marketable and take the 'easy' money. Hopefully DAZN expect some sort of real challenges to be put in front of him so the public appetite to keep watching him is strong. He'll only get that full amount assuming he wins all the fights in that contract. Reynoso will cut a sizeable cut.
I’m sure that meant something in your head. To use an old phrase. ‘May be better to take more water with it.’
2% of 100 million is still 2 million dollars. Even that’s a lot for 6 fights, and Abel said it was insulting. LMAO And how many top fighters went up there since he has Golovkin? Abel is an idiot.
There’s a video on YouTube when he is introducing his gym and he says the facility looks like this because of the Golovkin money.
No, I meant the part about any of the fights ending a draw or a SD/MD affecting his pay. No way would anyone agree to take a pay cut if they happen to win via SD. You better provide proof for your claims.
It's hard to believe that DAZN would sign a one-way contract for Canelo in which Canelo is paid $300,000,000+. Imagine Canelo loses his next fight with Jacobs, and then loses the Jacob rematch too. Do DAZN just carry on paying him on average almost $30,000,000 per fight while Canelo's drawing power keeps declining, both with his countrymen and with casuals? Would Mayweather have been able to make $300,000,000 against Pacquiao if he lost against Maidana before? No way. Every business contract has clauses and sub-clauses. To expect it to be a one-way thing in favour of the beneficiary is being naive.
