“Pace yourself” is a losing strategy, why do world class fall for this nonsense?

You literally picked the exact fight to kill your argument.

ODH didn't pace himself, had nothing left at the end and lost to Trinidad

Simple look at Quartey fight round 12 shows Oscar had another gear, he was tired but still moving fine. His corner told him to cruise to the end and he listened. Big mistake

Maybe you should listen to Oscar himself who said he was shaking because he was exhausted in the Trinidad fight. He had nothing left. He was totally spent. Those are his own words.

HBO’s Legendary Nights had episode “De La Hoya vs Trinidad”, back in early 2000s. In it Oscar himself is interviewed and says that it was his corner who told him to cruise and he agreed. Was he completely spent? Maybe that’s true to, but in that interview he didn’t mention and simply implied it was an agreed strategy
