I hope Fury is just blowing smoke like he likes to. He needs to beat AJ and Usyk to be able to go out with a worthy legacy. Otherwise, his premature retirement would do nothing but weaken the division, and would forever leave people wondering if he could have ever truly been one of the greatest. By beating AJ and Usyk there would be no argument and no doubt that he cleaned out the division and was at least the best of his era.

If he retires before having a go at undisputed if he can, he's destroying his legacy.

I have a feeling he might want to retire, then make a comeback for a single big fight vs whoever is nearest to unified a couple of years down the track.

A champion with an enduring legacy in mind would want to have beaten Joshua, Usyk, Joyce, Hrgovic, Makhmodov maybe ... perhaps someone very late like Huni/Anderson/Jalolov ... to make sure of their place in history, but most likely we will be stuck with 50 years of online hypotheticals about how Fury *-could-* have beaten all these HWs.

On the other hand ... maybe he doesn't want to spend the years ahead being hit by these names above, and I can't blame him for that.

    Joyce would be decent
Usyk is solid due to his boxing skill but he is a natural cruiser

Who else is left for this 34 year old who has 2 fights left in him?[/QUOTE]
Well Fury clearly doesn't batter them until he actualy beats them in the ring. Just saying so foesn't make it a reality.
Usyk has the belts and AJ was two time unified champ so yeah Fury has to fight both. they are both relevant.
If he adds Whute and someone like Joyce then for me it's clear cut. if he doesn't than as I've clearly stated then it's open to question.

Of course he is. My gut feeling is he really wants a Joshua fight. Despite Joshua's defeats it's still an enormous fight and probably be the biggest PPV in UK history. He thinks he'd beat Joshua fairly handily too.

I think he's more wary of Usyk though.

Would be sad if he retired after this fight which could be over very quickly. It literally could just be Fury vs Chisora 3.

I don't see what Whyte can do but just swing haymakers and hope that his shot puts Fury down, but considering Wilder couldn't do it, what makes Whyte think he can do it?

Whyte doesn't hit as hard as Wilder does, and Wilder is much quicker.

Whyte is obviously the underdog, but clearly he has a chance. Fury is getting caught more and more recently - coming in heavier and fighting more aggressive is more exciting but also makes him more vulnerable. Naturally with age his footwork is less elusive, but the trade off is better power and aggression.

I give Fury a likely 80% chance of winning. I think he's motivated for this fight and will know he was lacklustre against Wilder. He doesn't have all the distractions (new baby, hangers on in America, Wilder arbitration) hanging over him this time. I predict we will see a far better Fury, probably akin to Wilder 2. He will rise to the occasion.

It’s nobodies business how much he gave or who he gave it to. All that matter is that he definitely donated his purse.

Difficult to predict what Fury you're gonna get but against Wilder last time it's clear he didn't train for over a year during covid.

I reckon he's been training more frequently now and has no background issues to spoil training.

I think he'll be in better shape than last time.
