Inoue looks like a mini juiced Golovkin right now. His physique is insane.

GGG's birthday in April 8th, Naoya's is April 10th. Probably means nothing. But I just figured I'd throw that out there.:D

That's cool, and you are correct about the phonetic reading of the kanji. BUT the trouble is English uses syllables and Japanese uses mora.

It is not easy for nonーJapanese to actually detect the four distinct sounds here, let alone pronounce them:
https://ja.forvo.com/word/井上/#:~:text=井上 の発音 閩東語 [cdo] 井上 の発音を 発音者:,huaxia (中国 の 男性) 0 票 良い 悪い

[E.noh.e] as a three syllable English expression is good enough approximation of the four mora Japanese い。の。う。え , due to the existence of diphthong vowels in the English language. Technically Japanese doesn't have diphthongs as written, but I would still argue that many Japanese when speaking in a relaxed manner are using diphthongs, but that is besides the point.

The English speaker says [E.noh.e] (/i.noʊ.ɛ/) the Japanese listener would divide the diphthong into two mora to give /i.no.ʊ.ɛ/ which is a very good approximation of /i.no.ɯ.e/ [ い。の。う。え。] for a Japanese speaker.

Of course you (I'm assuming as a bilingual) might be able to detect the minor differences between the sound systems. Most don't have the linguistic background. You are very lucky if you do! I'm jealous. Though I'd hoped you'd have picked up on my Star Wars joke given your avatar.
