I almost did this thread yesterday.

He started out seeming like a hypejob of the Chavez Jr. variety. He seemed slow of foot, stumpy, and not very explosive.

He then fought Austin Trout in a risky fight that he really didn’t need to take, but pulled it off and showed plenty of wrinkles and slick defensive moves. Haters will complain about this verdict, but it was open scoring so he wasn’t exactly gonna urgently close the show.

The Mayweather fight was a disaster for him other than his bank account. You’d think he would’ve gone down the long road of soft touches and fabricated titles after. Instead, he took a high risk, low reward fight against Lara and pulled it off. Haters will complain, again, but nobody else even was willing to fight Lara.

And then there’s the GGG fights. If you told people a couple years ago that Canelo would push GGG back and land the bigger power shots against him, not even mentioning that he would win, they would’ve laughed at you.

Canelo has moved the haters’ goal posts football fields already.

 

Drugnelo is 0-2 against Golovkin.

 

Canelos did a lot better than I would have given him credit for, yes he's a tough, slick M'****er .I find it amusing how the Clenelo fan boizzz now rate GGG as the best MW on the planet .
Ginger got the nod...lol Smacks of disbelief ... before all you heard was "He's only fought cherry picked Bums" Ah well what can you expect from people who support a drug cheat in sports..any sports, they don't seem to understand the ethics of the word SPORTS.

Long Live King Canelo!

 

Great break down.

Canelo/Floyd was epic. Great chess match.
It changed him big time. Also when I became a fan.
He handled himself better. Def gained confidence. And his boxing skill really starting to enter another level after the Cotto fight.
Everything came together for him in the first GGG fight. IMO his best performance to date.

 

Canelo's use of the judge's box is one of the best in history. You can count on his judges everytime.

I also have to admit that nobody cooks a Mexican Steak like Canelo. Clen flavour for the win.

Furthermore, he managed to choose a promoter who is so greasy and repulsive that he comes off looking modest and clean cut.

Finally, he has some excellent skills.

 

I'm still laughing at the people who think Canelo won that fight. But, it was not unexpected. Getting dodgy scorecards is his secret power.

He showed great defense and counterpunching in the first fight, but was a little low on punch output; the draw was well deserved but I actually had him edging it due to clean punching. In the rematch, he totally won the fight psychologically by not even allowing GGG to fight in his style and making him leery of going to war, which is what Canelo was offering him.

 

Pictures of Canelo and his horse are "muy hermoso" for his fans who can imagine themselves in their favourite fantasies with him.
