There is a $1 million penalty for for every lb Chavez comes in above 164.5 lb... now thats steep and it will keep Chavez drained

Steep indeed, but I'd still come in at 166 or 167 lb if I am Chavez Jr.

You know what... I would too... if he stays at 167 or 168 like he did last fight it will be a more even fight.... if he truly stays at 164.5 then he is toast

Absolutely. If he beats the yellow out of Canelo, he can write his own check here on out. Those extra 2 lbs are what kills a fighter, just look at Geale with Cotto.

Chavez agreed to everything and signed the contract. He weighed 167 for a fight contracted at 169 in his last fight. I'm sure He'll she'd the 2.4 extra pounds without sacrificing much. I'm just hoping there's no rehydration clause, because Chavez is already fighting at a catchweight to begin with.

Geale is older than Chavez by quite a bit of years. It's tougher for older fighters to cut weight than the young guns, obviously.

I think their is a rehydration clause but I haven't read it anywhere... if anyone finds it let us know that would be interesting to know... if there was, what weight would it be at? 185?

I'll be cheering for Chavez. He seems like a nice enough guy, especially when compared to El Pollo, who has gone from a guy that I was partial to to somebody I think is as low as his manager, because of the way he has been acting. If Chavez comes in properly trained, I think he beats the brakes off Alvarez

**** that...That's too much to ask of Chavez... Canelo better throw that **** out the window because most likely they'll be close to each other's weight on fight night anyways.

That's probably what Canelo rehydrates to ;)

They both have fanatics who are loyal that's for sure. This is probably the biggest all mexican showdown in the history of pro boxing which says alot about how big the event is going to be on Cinco de mayo!!

I do too, but chavez has size, and a great chin! It's going to be a tough fight for Canelo, and he's going to have to earn this one.
