Didnt GGG only offer Ward a fight at 164 catchweight? That's a joke of an offer and obvloudly Ward wasn't taking that fight. He finished his amateur career at LHW -- 178 lbs. Even when at 168 he would have been near death trying to make 164.
Although former unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin has been negotiating a multi-fight deal with DAZN for months that would include a rematch with Canelo Alvarez in September, it’s been very difficult to close the deal. Dan Raffael
I'm not sure about that. Sure he has all the money anyone can ask for, but his history shows us he's willing to take a significant pay cut to make the fights the fans want. For example, despite being the cash cow, the draw against Cotto, he paid Cotto his biggest payday and Canelo took a fraction. Same with Golovkin. Golovkin's biggest purse in the U.S. had been 2 million. Canelo paid him 12 times that amount to entice him to fight him. Canelo didn't have to take a risky fight against Jacobs and possibly jeopardizing his payday with a third GGG fight, but he did. Same thing with Austin Trout. He took on that high risk fight possibly jeopardizing the probable fight with Mayweather. The more Canelo's opponents make the like less he makes.
