I actually do think its an interesting observation.

G probably has been the most successful fighter in combined prestige (p4p), popularity (million dollar ppv buys) and money earned... relative to what his actual resume is.

But that point is pretty incomplete without its supporting facts.

    * Had he been able to secure the fights he was trying to get earlier in his career (sturm, martinez, cotto) he would of course have a better resume.

    * There have been other fighters that have approached the topic of this thread.... there was a time when Broner was undefeated, made multi millions, and on the p4p list, while having a pretty abysmal record. But whereas Broners was short lived... Gs has sustained.

I think Mikey Garcia approached this as well. He was considered fairly high p4p, made millions of dollars and was fairly popular, while imo lacking in the resume department in comparison.

I think AJ would be there with G but since hes a heavyweight people dont have him p4p.

    ......

So ya... G is probably the most successful fighter relative to his resume that I can think of.

    Kinda interesting.

FTR -- I'm not saying Canelo isn't an elite/great fighter without PED's, he clearly is, PED's cant improve your skills, fundamentals, technique, IQ, generalship, instincts/vision/awareness/anticipation, work ethic, heart, determination nd any other intangible, etc. etc.

But I doubt his fights with GGG would have been as close as they were becauae what they do give you is the "firepower" and physical ability to do things you couldnt previously have at a certain weight, and they allow you to train harder and recover faster.

I think Golden Boy all but forcefully pushed him up to MW because it's a glamour division and much more glamorous than 154, which is his natural weight IMO. All Golden Boy cares about is making money, ethics and morals be damned. They profit much more if their. Cash cow and the face of boxing is fighting at 160 as apposed to 154. Its that simple. Canelo's body of work from his start through 154 has already cemwnted him as an elite and great fighter and I actually think his resume is underraTed at 154. I think 154 is a much stronger division than given credit for.

So its not a steroid? Ok, i stand corrected, thank you for correcting me.

Regardless it is a PED and it's gotta raise an eye brow if a fighter pops for it because its so commonly stacked with test, d-bal or some other bulking agent, and used as the cutting agent in said stack. Outside of winstrol and halotestin, it's gotta be the most commonly used cutting agent in stacks or close to.

Wait, are winstrol and halotestin steroids then or no?

After he got robbed in the Olympic finals in 2004 he went to Germany without money, even Kazakhstan didn’t help him at all. In the beginning of his career he was poor as ****.

For his first HBO fight against Proska his purse was 23.000 dollar didn’t even cover the training camp.

    This man deserves every penny.

One of the most offensive fighters from the last 20 years. Every GGG fights is entertaining.

Have a good friend who spends a lot of time at Big Bear...He always says Golovkin is the Nicest Guy in Boxing he has ever met..goes out of his way to help Younger fighters at his own expense and he also said would be the most respected Fighters he has ever seen at Big Bear...He has no Ego like a lot of Fighters and you can see it's reflected in his demeanor...He also said with regards to moving up in weight His exact words..."He walks into Big Bear ready to start training for a campaign for an upcoming fight and jumps on the scales around 166 He said it's incredible he has never seen a more natural Middlewight in all his time in Boxing"....why should he go up in weight when he makes 160 so easily...thats why he has become one of the most Dominant and feared Middleweights we have seen for some time and will likely retire a Middleweight.!!!!i

    Yes, those are steroids.

Erik Morales and Francisco Vargas also tested positive for clenbuterol. It very well could have been Mexican beef but we’ll never know. I don’t know of any boxers who weren’t Mexican getting caught for it.

Hold up.. Ward was offered the fight against GGG and turned it down before GGG became so famous but don't let facts get in the way right.

Hold up! Ward called out GGG after GGG wanted to fight JCC Jr and Froch at 168 and GGG said no you 164. Later GGG offered Ward a fight after he was moving up to 175 to fight Kovalev. So you don't let facts get in the way.

Incorrect Canelo has the BOGUS win gifted to him by The NSAC & Vegas boxing.
When 85% of the boxing fraternity voted GGG as winner of BOTH fights it speaks for itself

OK...So we have Canelo, Erik Morales, and Fancisco Vargas who got caught. What did all three have in common? Weight struggles. Good catch there!
