Like I said elsewhere, height difference is about the same as Joshua-Parker, not a big deal.

Reach is just wingspan, they're boxing not t-posing - I doubt 4" is enough to make a big impact anyway, Parker had less reach.

Weight difference is a bit more than I expected but realistically its a standard heavyweight matchup, something you'd look at on the tale of the tape and say 'he's heavier' and think nothing more of it.

The size is an advantage but not worth banging on about as people have done.

Thought AJ would be in the 230's but then he stepped on the scales in pants and headphones so maybe he is

Its not a huge difference, but its a significant enough differerence where if AJ decides to fight on the outside Usyk will find himself having to make the adjustments. Usyk wants to take control from the begining. If not this can look alot like klitschko vs Adamek real quick.

Usyk said years ago that he would be 100 KG at heavyweight, which is bang on what he is for this fight. AJ's the same weight as he was for Pulev, slightly heavier than he was in Ruiz 2 and slightly lighter than he was for Parker. These are probably the ideal weights for both men.

Andy Ruiz looked a good 20lbs heavier.

    slick banter though. Pah.

I’m just saying what I saw, if you disagree, I couldn’t be less bothered.

He needs those extra 4 pounds, which is perfect for him. A former cruiser shouldnt weigh much more than that if you want to be relevant in the heavyweight division.

I do find it amusing though that after this obsession with 'heavyweight Usyk' just being too heavy and slowing down (based on two sparring sessions and a lot of assumptions), and even today he turns up only about 10lbs heavier than he rehydrated to at cruiserweight.

They don't realise that had Ruiz actually not been a gluttonous sloth and had the discipline and work ethic of an athlete, he wouldn't even be a cruiser with his SMW arms and LHW height. In terms of height and reach, Usyk is bigger than most of AJ's top 5 opponents (longer than Ruiz, Povetkin and Parker, stubbier than Whyte and Wlad) younger than Wlad, Povetkin, Pulev and Takam, not short notice like Takam or Ruiz, not untrained like Ruiz 2 and not inactive like Wlad or Pulev. AJ got destroyed by the shortest and stubbiest of all of his opponents and the second shortest and stubbiest (Povetkin) gave AJ a lot of trouble before the old man slowed down.

I'm pleased that Usyk came in at that weight and not the 231 he and his team lead us to believe he was going to come in at. I still would've preferred it if he came it at 215 and no more than 217 max and hadn't bulked up with all that CrossFit business because I think they're underestimating AJ's speed which was impressive for someone of his gargantuan dimensions even before he cut down on the weights after losing to that wobbly gut obese giant toad Fat Andy. He already has the natural size and power of a giant so he'll still be hitting very hard but his shots will be quicker and be more snappy than AJ 1.0.
