A lost here would really hurt Inoue's case as a top 10 Japanese boxer of all time.

If he loses (which I don't think he will) his best win would be a past prime Donaire who he also lost to. That won't put him over guys like Ebihara, Harada, Oba, etc. I think he can become top 10 and even top 5 but a L here would hurt his case. I didn't mean to "bait" anyone. I'm sorry if you felt that way.

Inoue's intention is to retire Nonito.

    Taken from the comments section:

Ok its kind of hard to hear the questions because of the sound mixing, so I can only translate the answers. Many of them were the same old boxing presser questions like "how are you feeling?" or "How is your training going?" So I Will only translate the interesting parts. First of all, It seems that this interview is from a week ago, as naoya says that its only two more weeks until the fight. The founder of his gym (ohashi boxing gym), Hideyuki Ohashi said that Inoue just arrived at Japan and that He thought this would make for an exciting match-up. Then Naoya said he didn' want the fight to become another drama like the last time. He aknowledge that the orbital bone injury was no accident and gave his props to donaire and his skillful use of feints, but he said he was looking forward to prove how he adapted to his tactics. He expressed his intentions to become undisputed un bantamweight after this fight. Then Naoya said He was able to recover from some lower back pains that were giving him trouble throughout the last training camps thanks to some new training methods and this helped him to generate more power from his lower body. Then his father talked about the fight and said that he felt his son son convincingly the first time, but since Donaire won a title and Naoya still wanted to prove everyone He is much better, the rematch made sense. Then Hideyuki Ohashi talked about Naoya's improved lower body and how thanks to his training he would be able to put on an even better performance than what se are used to see from him this time around. He also said that he was bringing in sparring partners from overseas to practice against techniques that japanese fighters don't usually use. Lastly, Naoya said He was aware that Donaire would come inti the fight with a diferent Gameplay and that He would be ready. He said that after fighting three times against contenders He was very motivated to fight for a title again. According yo him this is the first time a three title unification bout has been fought in Japan so He was very Happy about It and about being able to share the ring with Donaire again. That being said, he believes their last fight gave Nonito the wrong idea that he could beat him, and motivated the filipino to become better.

Inoue is a three division and unified champion with a record of 15-0 (13) in primary title fights, Harada is a 2 division champion with a record of 6-4 in title fights. I understand Harada is popular, but he is not a comparable fighter to Inoue. Ebihara is a 1 division champion with a record of 3-3 in title fights. Let's not be crazy in comparing clearly inferior fighters. Inoue has beaten much better fighters than either of them.

Can't wait for this. Main fight starts 9pm on Amazon Prime Japan. Gives us salary men (and OLs) a chance to get home for this one!

Btw am I correct in thinking that Donaire has permanently disfigured Inoue's face? Inoue's eyes didn't used to be like that.

You're using title stats without the context that are more divisions and titles in Inoue's era then there was in Harada's. Harada's win over a prime Kingpetch is greater than a win over a past prime Donaire. Both of Harada's wins over Jofre are greater than a win over a past prime Donaire. I mean Jofre himself is greater than Inoue and Harada beat him TWICE. Ebihara's wins over Kingpetch and Chionoi are greater wins than a past prime Donaire. Keep in mind that if it weren't for the Famechon robbery Harada would've been the first three division champ since Armstrong. In an era with way less titles and divisions.

I can't even talk with somebody this crazy about boxing. No- Jofre, Harada, Ebihara combined are not as good as Inoue. I mean this literally, if he fought all of them on the same night he would beat all three, totaling probably 4 rounds. Jofre had a very good career, and he was the best bantamweight for several years, but H2H they are in different leagues. Inoue is a multidivision champion KOing featherweight champions, and Jofre lost to a flyweight.

Jofre achieved more in his career than Inoue has but I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I also recommend you watch more of Jofre because you are severely underesimating his h2h ability.

Also how come you say Inoue has been knocking out featherweights but then when you describe Jofre you just say "lost to a flyweight"

    1. Harada is one of the greatest flyweights and bantamweights of all time. That's like saying Marquez lost to a minimumweight. It is technically true but it is misleading.

    2. Jofre literally became the featherweight champion of the world?? Why ignore this and just sum his career up to "guy who lost to a flyweight"

If Jofre is just some guy who lost to a flyweight in your opinion then I'm done talking to you.
