Never been to the 02 in London and with loma vs campbell basic confirmed for 31 August would love go down to london watch lomachenko is it a decent arena? Places like hydro in glasgow not really a bad seat but any advice lower or upper tier greatly appreciated
Been there plenty, though only once for boxing. It's a pretty decent venue I would say. Not in a great part of London IMO but that's besides the point. Plenty of food and drink options in and around the arena. I was fairly high up for GGG-Brook and could see fine. I found some of the crowd to be very intolerable though I think given that it's Campbell fighting and not someone like Bellew then the crowd might be a bit more tolerable.
I’ve been quite a few times. It was bad for Whyte vs Chisora...people smoking and doing coke off the sinks in the toilets. Happens a bit every time but this was off the charts. I like it as an arena though, easy to get to as it’s on the Jubilee. Food and drink options improving all the time as they’re developing the area.
cheers guys just think only chance will get see him live plus arsenal vs spurs on the same day so will drive down from Scotland
It’s a great venue! I’ve seen bands there also and the sound was excellent! Loads of bars so didn’t wait long to get served. I seem to remember being able to see what was going on just fine at the top of block 102 but wouldn’t want to be any further back than that
Easy to get to, nightmare to get out of after the event. I used the cable cars to get over the river last time and quite enjoyed that. Get the best seats you can afford, up high its horrendous and full of idiots. Last one I went to there was Whyte Chisora 2 and as someone else has mentioned the drug use in the toilets was off the scales (could be because it was the last Saturday before Xmas and all the idiots were out) there was a fair few "fights" too but nowt too serious.
Been plenty of times, lots for boxing too. It is well run and you will have a good night. there isn't many great places to drink nearby apart from a couple of places in the 02 itself, the All Bar One and Slug and Lettuce. I would recommend the middle seats, good value. Do not go too high or you will be watching on the screen.
Can get the Thames clipper too, though not sure if it runs by the time of booting out. Previously I’ve lived in the new flats right next door so Whyte Rivas will be the first time I have to escape the area after Hoping by hanging back and having a few drinks things are a bit easier. Another option is bus to Greenwich and get the DLR (cutty sark) from there. Whyte Chisora 2 was exceptionally bad for the smoking and drug use so suspect it was to do with timing...
The drug thing is just society. Goodwood races have a load of sniffer dogs now, because last year a load of people got heavily geared up and had a few scraps. Always depressing to see 50 lads queuing for the cubicle.
The Deck if you dont mind blowing a load of cash, best seats I have had in the o2. Followed by lower tier seating which is fine. If you're on ground level in seats you get blocked a lot if anyone stands up (they will and you will), and these tend to cost more, so avoid. Upper tier I imagine you're a bit far away, but not sat there myself. Way I look at it; I only occasionally get to go to boxing these days so dont mind paying for a decent view. All in all, I think its a very good arena to watch boxing
O2 is great IMO. For me seems like there's not a bad seat in the arena. Obviously the higher you go the harder it is to see but the venue is built for good views and whether it's boxing or a gig, it's fantastic. Travel wise your best bet is to just bolt it out of the door as soon as the final fight ends and you will get on the tube out. If you struggle and the queues build up then just got to the bus station and take a bus closer to where you need to go. Far better than stadiums like Wembley in terms of getting out quick. Blown away by people who feel the need to do coke at a boxing event. Each to their own.
. Yeah couldn’t agree more a few beers food all good by me. Cheers again guys for input here looking at trivago as we speak hahah
O2 by far the best venue for Boxing in the UK. Drink and food prices are high inside though so better to drink in east London before and after and just have a couple at the venue itself. Fights are usually dispersed quickly or self policed, very unlikely to be caught up in something if your minding your own business. Never had a problem getting the tube sometimes there is a crowd but it's always been moving in my experience.
It's fine for viewing, plenty of bars and food, it's quite nice outside the arena on the inside bit, jubilee line but it will be full of coked up and beveraged city boys and chavs most likely, still be a core of normal people too
