Seems like the numbers are fabricated or they did extreme promos. Hbo has had decent to weak main events and undercards. Just look at the fights ahead. Showtime with GBP will put hbo numbers to shame.

 

GBP fighters will go back to HBO once showtime stops paying them more. GBP knows that showtime gets less viewers. Showtime also knows this.

Showtime is attempting to invest in building their boxing brand, hoping that they become the #1 source for boxing so even if they are losing money now it will pay off in the future. This is also why Floyd left.

 

its not that there are more subscribers. there's only a little bit more. Its just more subscribers subscribe to HBO for the boxing and have historically done so.

With that said, it was a free weekend for hbo.

This :deal. Also, the fact that HBO is releasing the numbers for EVERY SINGLE boxing event they've had since the split with GBP means that HBO is in fact suffering/losing viewership. I suspect these numbers to be largely inflated. If you watch a replay of the fight, you can see half of the seats in the arena are empty. 1.3 million my booty butt cheeks

You'd be a fool not to recognize how badly HBO is getting shitted on by SHO

Someone should advise Showtime to inflate their numbers, cause they're absolutely pathetic. Wasn't it like 500k for Maidana Lopez? Or at least prevent them from leaking like they tried for the ppv.
