Any fighter promoted by Bob Arum will never fight Floyd. Arum doesn't give a **** about fan and will hold a fight hostage because he simply hates Floyd. He hates DLH so much he didn't want to make a fight that would eventually sell over 2 million PPV buys

The money split is not the issue holding up the fight or drug testing or venue, its ARUM!

Then why does Floyd beat Pac in all common opponents? If you add them up it is half a million to a million not counting the Oscar/Floyd fight.

No way was this card going to do 2 million but I figured it might do more than 1.5 as well.

Obviously it was a success it brought in a lot of money but considering 3 of boxings biggest name were on the same card it came in a little low.

Charging a little more for the card and putting shows in theaters probably hurt ppv sales some but I don't think it would be by much.

If Mayweather vs Cotto sold for $40 how many ppvs sells do you think they would get?

Only one fight ever has done over 2 million. Why do people keep saying they expected to hit 2 million? I just fail to see how that was ever the case.

Considering it was a stacked card, the numbers could've been higher. Jacking up the price an extra 10 dollars may have something to do with it.

Let's see....Cotto (third biggest draw), Canelo (200-300,000 on his own), Mosley (legendary fighter with name recognition)....not to mention the cinco de mayo factor.

Exactly but we are also forgetting about Cotto who can draw an Island, Mosley who might draw 10% of Pomona

    I agree and disagree.

Arum is definetly a pain in the ass.

But all the reports fro the last round of negotiations say the same thing. That arum and his team, agreed to everything, they just want the 50/50 split that was always there.
No dout in my mind foyd is the blame for the fight not happening this time.

He chose the fight which makes the best business sence for him. He got to earn just as much money a he might fighting Pac by putting everyone else on small guarantees. And i personally am pissed of.

Just so he can earn a bit more fighting an easier fight, all us boxing fans have to suffer.

In economics the term is law of diminishing returns. The more there is of a commodity, the less valuable it becomes. The inverse of that is scarcity drives up price and demand. More people turn up to watch Floyd because he fights once a year and is prone to urges of retirement. It's like why do more people turn up to watch Haley's comet than any other comet (shooting stars)? Because Haley's comet would only turn up once in your lifetime whereas other comets come more frequently.

I think the thread starter is just saying stuff for effect....

He has had lots of sensible replies and doesn't reply with anything of significance unfortunately.

Arum and company never agreed to date and venue Mayweather wanted. Then the purse split became an issue and everyone blamed PBF for the fight now happening.

You seem like a smart guy, I'm sure in time you'll realize Arum is the reason this fight is not getting made.
