The fight still was successful. It might now have reached its full potential, but it was without a doubt a success. Was that your point?

Haye vs Chisora will beat that easy and that's with Britain being much smaller than the USA. Americans don't care about boxing while Hayemaker vs Chisora is a National event.

It actually did more than I thought it would, it was a huge success.

For boxing and boxing fans, but not for GBP and Floyd.

So you just entered the thread to downplay the event? Do you enter Pac threads and apply the glass half empty mentality to his accomplishments?

put mosley vs canelo on it and it would have done more.

also, you have to say, that floyd promotes himself better during 24/7 and manny isnt on the same level when it comes to promote fights :yep

Beeyatch...read the thread title, and tell me my post don't apply. And yes, I did enter a Pac thread today and "downplayed" some of the **** he said.

Almost 100 million in PPV revenue is not a success? LOL, tell that to Pacquiao, Arum, UFC and the WWE who would kill for those numbers.

while floyd strolls off to a short prison stint, 40+ million richer, you keep telling yourself that the revenue for that fight wasn't a success, maybe he'll eventually believe what you have to say about it.

Mosley washed up. Canelo, only known by the Mexicans.

The view in the build-up: Cotto, post Plasterd and KO'd by a little Man and was seen as having no chance which should lead the "casual" viewer not to watch.

I knew people that were both a fan of Mosley and Cotto a few years back that just won't watch them anymore after their defeats. So I do wonder how many more have that same thought.

Now, did it help having them on the undercard to any casual viewer that may have trouble deciding if he wants to shell out that kind of Money for Floyd vs. twice KO'd Cotto ?
    Yeah. a bit.

But it still about the main event.

PPV costs are getting absurd and that should have deterred people. I wish it would have. Maybe they would lower the prices.

1.5 is a very good number. The more important numbers are the amount it generated: both PPV and Gate. When you are able to get people willingly to put out that kind of money, that's something big.

Floyd is supposed to be the biggest draw in boxing, he had 1 of the best cards working for him on the best date possible vs the 3d biggest draw in boxing.
1.5 mil is ok but for everything being absolutely optimal you would expect him to do more.

The card was widely criticized, actually. In fact, there is a poll here somewhere saying that most prefer the Pac-Bradley UC. Most journalist and articles leading up to the fight said the same.

    Really ?

Show me the list of fights over the years that generated not only 1.5 million, but pulled in the total revenue numbers: PPV total and Gate money.
