You are right, BUT it is a lot easier to lose weight than you think...

OK, the average person who does not exercise will burn 2000 calories a day. They will usually eat around 2000-2500 a day.

OK, so drop your calories to 1500 calories a day 3 weeks a month.
You are losing then 500 calories a day over 7 days : total 3500 calories(1 ib a week) over 3 weeks you have lost 3ibs that month just from dieting.

OK, exercise with the aim of losing 1000 calories a day. You can do the exercise bike / running for an hour a day, you can lose anything from 600 to 1000 calories depending how fast you go. Lets say you do this 5 times a week with an average of 800 calories burnt.
That is 4000 Calories a week burnt... add to that boxing, which is about 600 calories an hour say 3 times a week for the average person?
Total of 5800 calories a week, which is about 2.5ibs

4th week do not do any cycling/running, just box to recover...

So in total you are losing 2.5ibs a week exercising and ibs a week dieting
    A total of 3.5ibs a week x 3 weeks + 1800 boxing = 12ibs a month

They say you can't lose more than 14ibs a month healthily, so there you go... easy way to lose 12ibs a month :)

I appologise if any of my maths is wrong (I don't think it is!?) but it is 11:00pm on a Sunday evening ;)

I lost around 2 stone in 2 months using the above method... I cut out ALL crisps, chocolate, fizzy drinks, sweets, cheese, cut my refined carbs down. Still ate the calories, but went with vegetables and whole grain stuff, etc to keep my energy levels up :)

Most overweight people will crumble under that regime.

Are you sure it is a woman? And I think she intends to eat it...

I think those numbers though might only count the calories burned while doing the running and not the additional calories burned during the rest of the day from an increased metabolism. You can loose a pound in a week without running 20 miles. I know cause if it took that much running Id be in trouble:lol:

I was watching a show recently where a woman had lost about 100 pounds. After she had reached that milestone, her trainer made her grab a 50-pound dumbell in each hand and walk out the gym to the end of the block and back. She never looked back after that.

It really is something when you think about the crap you're getting rid of by losing just a few pounds, especially if it's all fat.

1,500 is pretty low especially for those who want to lose fat(normally people on above 2,500), if someone sticks to between 2,000-2,500 calories a day and just increases exercise to between 1/2 hours a day(with a good hard intensity for as much of that as possible) 6 days a week then they'll find themselves in pretty good shape in no time and if they are overweight that situation should alter.

If you come up with a good routine and stick to it, the results will come relatively easily.

that may be 1 pound of fat, but you may also lose 2 pounds of water maybe more. The water weight will be put back on straight away though.
