lol again, Canelo and Jermell are already signed for Sept 30th. The earliest Bud vs Jermell or Canelo can happen is next year. Meanwhile Bud vs Thurman can be made for later this year. No one wants to see a Bud Spence rematch that would be a waste. And if a Spence rematch happens at 154 then will Bud ever defend his WW Undisputed Titles?

Do you wanna see Bud vacate his Undisputed Titles without ever defending them? Spence has made it clear that he does not want the Bud rematch at 147. So again, the biggest and most lucrative fight for Bud at 147 is clearly Thurman. That's a fight that can be made for later this year. Canelo is fighting Jermell so it makes sense for Bud to have a 147 Undisputed defense later this year before moving up to challenge those boys. Thurman makes the most sense for a 147 Undisputed defense later this year.

Very likely he fights Spence at 154 instead.

Thurman has been ducking both Bud and Spence for years. He's now irrelevant. Nobody thinks Thurman stands a serious chance against Bud, so why would not fighting an unserious half-retired cornball be a duck?

So who will Bud defend his Undisputed WW Titles against? And when? Or are you suggesting he vacate Undisputed?

Unless you have a Time Machine, Thurman is a waste of time. He’s washed up and hasn’t looked good in years. He lost to the ghost of Manny and isn’t top ten. Forget this nonsense, Thurman is better off fighting YouTubers or another has been. He has zero business being a sparring partner to a top welter let alone a legit opponent. Tell the truth, do you hate boxing?

I meant 1 time fights Spence at 154.

I don't think Spence takes the rematch with Bud right away. Maybe if Bud and Spence can grab a 154 title if Charlo moves up to 160/168.

Rematch would be easier to sell then.

To be fair, both were fighting under different promotions. Thurman fought the Top Dogs in PBC and beat them. Then he got the big fight vs Pacquaio. Meanwhile who was Bud fighting that were better than the guys Thurman beat? Face it, Bud was being protected. He only decided to step up and fight a PBC guy when it was a guy who was in a massive car wreck and was slurring his words. Bud needs to fight a true high quality opponent who's beat the best PBC had to offer while they were in their prime. Yes Thurman lost a razor tight decision to old Pacquiao who was in the midst of a career resurgence, who many fans picked to beat Bud. Thurman's close loss to Pacquaio does not diminish all he's accomplished in his career nor how skilled he is and how tough of a fight it would be for Bud now.

hed prob do that. i think hes a ***** and he would actually want that fight with spence coming off his 3rd car wreck. Thurman will be scared of ennis like he was spence crawford the past years. your right.

Stop it; the entire WW division was bad. Danny ****ing Garcia, who has not had a notable win since 140, was considered a top 5/6 guy during his stay there. Are we really saying that he was so much better than Mean Machine? That Yordenis Ugas is better than David Avanesyan? I could also say nonsense like "Spence was being protected from Boots Ennis and Stanniosis for years" as they've been his mandos for at least the past two years, and that holds more weight than trying to pretend that Mikey Garcia was a more credible WW win than Jose Benavidez Jr.

All that is neither here nor there and we could debate for ages. The fact is, regardless of what happened or didn't happen in the past, the fight makes sense now. It makes sense for Bud to have a 147 Undisputed defense before moving up to fight Jermell or Canelo, as Bud can't fight them now since they fighting each other!

I ask you point blank - who is Bud going to fight at 147 in a Undisputed Defense that is a bigger more lucrative fight than Thurman? And if you think Boots is a bigger fight, then do you really think or expect Bud to fight Boots next? The Thurman fight makes a lot more sense for a lot more reasons than Boots at this point in time.

Crawford is probably fighting Spence again because of rematch clauses. In the meantime, have Thurman, Ennis, Stanonis and one other (maybe Rocha or Santillan) fight a mini tourney for #1 contender and next logical challenger. They could do this in 6 months, not every fight needs to be some epic that takes 8-12 months of promotion.
