What an unexpected great fight we have here! Shinsuke Yamanaka attempts his 9th WBC title defense against Anselmo Moreno, who just lost a year ago in his attempt for a 13th WBA title defense. Fight will be in Japan on September 22. Hopefully Yamanaka stops Moreno, Mares staggered him a few times, I think Shinsuke can get the job done.
Yamanaka defends the title in Japan where all of his career fights have been. Moreno fights abroad in this one as he often has done. He has fought twice in Germany, twice in France, once in Haiti, once in Venezuela, and four times in the USA. Add Japan.
Gotta favour Yamanaka. Moreno make things tricky but I can't see him having the power or strength to make Yamanaka respect him. Also Moreno has been horribly inactive recently.
Terrific news. :happy Might be slightly past its best before date, but it's still a lower weight dream match I've wanted to see for a long, long time. It crowns a RING champion, and establishes the winner as probably the best 118lb champion since the turn of the millennium.
Yamanka is good, but he definitely doesn't deserve the 9th spot on the p4p list on ring. I think Yamanaka is the clear favorite on this one though.
Big fan of both, just a shame this wasn't made 18 months ago I actually think the way to beat Yamanaka is to do what Suriyan did and to get in his face, pressure him and make him uncomfortable
