His name got him those fights.. Not like he worked his way through the division. He has been fighting on his terms for years now. He hasn't had to fight anyone he didn't want to for years and years.

The way Mayweather became the champ isn't as admirable as other boxing stories IMO.

Winning belts in the lower weight classes was more impressive than what he has done at WW.

He got those shots cause it was a no brainer that he was ahead of the competition in the division. And he preoved he deserved the title shot by embarrassing the champion. So for him to become champion in the division that fast is very impressive.

3 fights is a normal amount of fights.

How many fights did it take Hopkins and then Calzaghe to become the man at Light-heavy? For Pacquiao to become the man at 126?

He cherry picked after the first fight against Castillo, but his very next fight after Castillo was Castillo again?:nut Does that even make sense?

Well linear title is the linear title and he beat Baldomir the current Champ at that time and the previous Champ Zab Judah. Sure they may be the weakest linear Welterweight Champions in history but he did beat them so that counts for something.
