I see your point but anything under a 10-7 round is extremely rare, and I think 10-7 is appropriate if a guy is dropped twice. Anyone ever see a round where a guy was dropped twice quickly but still arguably won the round? Just curious....I can't think of a a 9-7 (or 10-8) round off the top of my head
How to Score a Fight From Boxrec Boxing Encyclopaedia Jump to: navigation, search Points are calculated as follows: There are typically 3 judges for each fight. If a judge deems that fighter A has won or out boxed fighter B in a round, then he will score the round 10 to fighter A and 9 to fighter B. This content is protected If the judge decides that neither fighter won a round then he or she will score it 10 points to each fighter. If a fighter is a penalized by the referee, eg for a low blow, then the referee will instruct the judges to deduct a point for that fighter from their score card for that round only. The referee also scores each round on his own score card, but this only used if there is no clear winner from the judges. At the end of all 12 rounds the points are totaled for all the rounds and each judge gives his or her decision for the whole fight. So Judge 1 might score it 118 to fighter B and 119 to fighter A and give fighter A the decision. Judge 2 will give his total and Judge 3 will give his total. A Judge may total his scoring and both fighters receive the same total of points. The decision from that judge will be a draw. The fighter with the most judgesÂ’ decisions wins. A split decision is one judge scores it a win for fighter A and the other two judges score it a win for fighter B. If however, one judge scores it a draw, one scores it a win for fighter A and one scores it a win for fighter B, then and only then is the referee's score card used to try and decide a winner. If there is still no outright winner the fight is classed as a draw (which is what most fans hate). if that is the case every kd is a point right??:deal
That's another question? If a guy is outboxed for the majority of the round and then suddenly scores a flash knockdown at the end of round should the round be scored 10-8 in his favour?
Yep another good point. Most people are really quick to pull the trigger and give the round to the guy who scored the flash kd. A perfect example recently would be Jiminez/Gamboa round 4. I had Gamboa taking that round, and scored it 9-9 but im pretty sure most people had it 10-8 for Jiminez.
Down twice then 10-8 round. Simple. The fact that it causes a deficit is tough ****. Don't get knocked down twice.
it shoud def state that if it says take 1 away for the first one it should state the other kd also or maybe it is put like that so it is at the descretion of the judges.....do we really need a 10pt.must system anyways?
I've got no issues with the 10 point must system. I do believe that a 10-7 round for two KDs is excessive. But, based on the poll results 99% of Eastside disagrees with me.
I've never seen a round scored lower than 10-6. If there was one in history, I'd say the Ref wasn't doing his job correctly and stopped the fight.
i guess i would say a 10-8 round would be fine for 2 kd but then u could argue why only 10-8 if he won the rd then had 2 kd 3pts total...but like i said why not just have a 5 pt must or even a 3pt?? how often do u really see a 10-6 the ref would most likely stop it anyway
