10 best heavyweights of the 2000s

Chagaev

Toney

Ruiz, valuev, chambers, povetkin and haye bring up the rear.

As a side note, that means out of the other 14 in the top 15, wlad has beaten 7 of them!

 

If Vitali and Wlad where not related how many times would they have fought each other?

Captain Obvious.

 

Wlad(unified titlist) many defenses, rebounded from defeats X2.
Vitali (3 time champion), lost only 4 rounds in 6 years, many defenses.
Valuev( 2 time champion) several defenses, fought like a wreaking ball.
Lewis(would be #1, but retired early with unfinished biz) fought several of the best.
Chagaev( 2 time titlist)
Ruiz(2 time titlist)fought almost everyone
Byrd(2 time titlist)fought almost everyone
Liakovich( titlist) steady run to the title. Beat several big names)
Brewster(titlist) beat Wlad, many other decent wins over top competition
Holyfield( although old already in 2000, he earned many title shots throughout the decade and fought always the very best.

Honorable mentions go to Haye....late in the decade made a good run to a title. Peter...gave Wlad fits in his comeback and won a title while Vitali was on leave. Toney.....came up from CW and made a good run at HW. Briggs.....forever on the comeback, won the WBO from Liakovich.

 

The problem with the decade is of the top 3 guys there was only one fight which wasn't conclusive to rank the 3. When you compare that to the 70's with Ali, Foreman & Frazier where they all fought each other it is easy to see why the latter have good resumes.

 

Does anything since 2010 change how the fighters in 2000-2009 are viewed?
