Hahaha that's it run away and hide, you have the same mentality as your hero Tinkerbell Tyson... :hi::hi:
tua and golota have some of the tools. I think on their night, with a few early left hooks for confidence and momentum, they could do it. that is a possible scenario for ali vs vitali. the obvious people i left out are tyson and foreman, i would change tyson 4 tua without much argument, but i dont like him any more than tua here.
Tua is a poor mans Fraizer, minus the wprkrate, stamina, intensity or pressure, not to mention he has small reach. Ali would outbox him as Lewis did
My picks would be: Foreman (in a rematch where he paced himself better) Norton (cause he did it) Frazier (see above) Lewis (size, reach, power advantage) Holmes (great jab more pop than Ali's) Wlad (jab could give Ali fits) Vitali (Ali might have a hard time getting within range of VK) Louis (best combination fighter at hvy, if he gets inside he could hurt Ali) Tyson (explosive power, extremely fast) Douglas (the douglas who beat Tyson could have given lots of fighters problems that night including Ali, but it's a long shot)
I see a few problems with a few of these picks. Norton and Frazier faced past prime versions of Ali. Not Prime Ali. They never saw a prime Ali's movement or hand speed or combos. They just fought a faded, but still good version Foreman would always face technical problems with Ali, he was wide open for that right cross and would get tagged with that punch no matter how he paced himself Douglas.. Is a huge long shot.. Who knows if he could pull that off against someone not as short as Tyson, not as willing to bull in like Tyson did, and someone not as 1 dimensional as Tokyo Tyson was. Holmes has a good chance of matching Ali in most categories but he would still be at a speed disadvantage and Ali would often land his right hand on Holmes ( a punch Holmes was vulnerable to) Vitali and Wlad I can understand but I think they would not be able to deal with Ali's speed and talent. as a matter of fact I think they would be completely outpointed.
You could very well be right on every point you made, but try and come up with 10 better opponents, that's the trick. I think the perfrect opponent might very well be a 6'3" version of Duran, or a 6'3" version of SRR, but they don't exist.
Yeah you can't. You can't really make a list that you would be 100% sure about. There's only a handful that you can make a case for beating Ali, imo. frazier and lewis got the best chances.
I have to disagree with the last part. Holmes didn't have any greater vulnerability to right hands than other punches.
Yes but you have to take into account that just about every fighter he fought had the right hand as their power punch. So its not that surprising that it was that punch that knocked him down when he was felled. Afterall how many southpaws or noted left hookers, apart from Coo ney did he meet during his career? Don't forget Ali was knocked down several times but only by left hooks. Would you then automatically say that a weakness of Ali's was that he was particularly vulnerable to left hookers? That the likes of Tua, Morrison and Ruddock would fare better against Ali than other punchers because they had big left hooks?
wait, your the guy who claimed Tyson was overrated and anything he did Ray Mercer could easily have replicated?
