Fedor / Lesner Lesner is the UFC champ and is branded as the best of the new era of the heavy weight giants while Fedor is the best fighter ever to grace the sport. Not just at heavy weight but p4p. There are so many ways they could hype this fight with the press and money to be made that this fight not happening is a disservice to MMA. Imagine if Ali never fought Frazier, ****** or *******. I hope you get my point. Dana and m1 need to fix up and really think about what they are doing to the sport they are apparently trying to promote. Make it happen before Lesner losses or Fedor gets old. Fedor Wedrum 2 Before the above match should happen this one must. Im not one for immediate rematches when there is no doubt to whom won but being the GOAT I think an exception should be made, Fedor deserves a chance to redeem his first real loss and Wedrum deserves to prove to the world it wasnt just a fluke win. Lets hope Strike Force can promote this the way it deserves. Barnett AO Barnett had been suspended for a year and forgotten / frowned upon by many fans since he got caught using illegal substances for a third time, a win over such a name will prove he still is one of the very best and make fans remember just how good he is, AO has looked very impressive and dominant since moving up to heavyweight but still needs a win over a highly ranked big name opponent to quite his critics. As a bonus the winner as long as he can stay clean will most likely get the Fedor / Wedrum winner. Machida Lesner (this will also allow Anderson silva to move up and compete for the light heavyweight title, instead of the possibility of one of them being like a Rua to Wandy in Pride) Machida said he wanted to move up and with his striking / takedown defense and with Lesners recent poor showing I think Machida could win this. How many times as Machida been taken down? Evans Lil Nog With Rua injured there might as well be an itrum title fight. With all the big names coming off loses and Nog coming off 2 wins it makes the most sense. And who wouldnt rather Rua / Nog 2 (the first fight was ) than Rua / Evans? Anderson Silva Belfort The only real challenge left for Silva at middleweight. If Belfort can control the range like Rua did with Machida this could be a very interesting match up. Anderson Silva Rua Sonnen talks a god game but lets be honest, Silva should win this fairly easily and after Belfort there isnt anyone left. With no threats at middleweight why not move up in weight (where he has already fought twice and looked spectacular) to arguably the best division in the UFC and test yourself against the best? This is just as intriguing if not more as an Silva / St. Pieere match up as they can both compete in a division comfortable to them. 2 legends, both on top of their game, what is not to like. St Pierre A Silva, why this hasnt happened yet baffles me and makes me wonder what is going on in Mr. Whites head, this is MMAs equivalent of Mayweather / Pacquiao without the promotion / drug testing problems. With Fedors recent loss they are with out a doubt p4p #1 and 2. In which order depends on who you ask, I say let them decide in the cage. St Pierre Jake Shields Shields is on a 14-bout winning streak and leaving Strike Force as a welterweight champ and current middleweight champion, this is a must make fight. Pierre needs some new challenges instead of fighting the KOs over again. B.J. Penn (if he wins his next match) Jose Aldo A 2 weight division champion and arguably best lightweight ever against a man being heralded as a future great and 3 weight division champion. Need I say more? Honorable mentions Machida Rua 3 One a piece, needs a third. Rampage anyone soon Has Rampage finally realized MMA at this level cant be done part time and that ring rust isnt a myth!
This is a great list. I would also like to see Randy Couture fight Machida and Rua, as well as Machida vs Crocop, Brock Lesnar vs Nogueira, Crocop vs Velazquez, and Anderson Silva vs Palhares to name a few.
One for each weight class starting at Bantam. Dominick Cruz vs. Scott Jorgensen José Aldo vs. Marlon Sandro Eddie Alvarez vs. Gilbert Melendez Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort Gegard Mousasi vs. Jon Jones Fedor Emelianenko vs. Alistair Overeem would also love to see: Alistair Overeem vs. Brock Lesnar Shinya Aoki vs. BJ Penn Shogun vs. Anderson Silva Muhammed Lawal vs. Rashad Evans
Jose Aldo vs AS (impossible but would be awesome) Jose Aldo vs JDS (impossible but would be awesome) Jose Aldo vs Rua (impossible but would be awesome) Jose Aldo vs Fedor (impossible but would be awesome) Jose Aldo vs Belfort JDS vs Fedor JDS vs Overeem JDS vs AS JDS vs Rua JDS vs Belfort Rua vs Fedor Rua vs Overeem Rua vs AS Rua vs Rampage Rua vs Belfort
My top 10 in order : Shogun - Anderson Silva Penn - Aldo Anderson Silva - St Pierre Velasquez - Dos Santos Faber - Torres Shogun - Rashad Evans St Pierre - Nick Diaz Overeem - Fedor Edgar - Florian Rampage (in better shape) - Rashad 2
I forgot to add Velasquez vs. JDS. That's probably my favorite hypothetical heavyweight fight that doesn't involve Fedor or Overeem.
Silva V Silva Dunno why, just like the fact they have the same surname and they are both strikers. A Silva would **** him at this point in time though.
