Am I wrong for believing that both Barrera and Morales have arguments to be rated higher than Chavez and Sanchez?

No i dont think the argument is strong enough. I mean resume wise maybe with Sanchez, but HTH Sanchez was the better fighter. Although i do rank Barrera,Morales over other guys like Saldivar,Zarate where as others here might not.

I need to brush up on my knowledge of Saldivar and Zarate. Barrera ability wise is equal to Chavez in my opinion but Morales isn't but Morales does have the better resume than Chavez,Sanchez,Barrera. Chavez probably has a deeper resume of world class wins than Morales but Morales definitely has the better top wins.

Im a huge Barrera fan and think he is an all time great somewhere in the 50-60 range. But i just cant see a prime Chavez losing some of the fights in the manner that Barrera lost while still in his prime or close to it(Jones,PacI,). A prime Chavez was impossible to Ko much less beat decisively.

A combination of where I perceive their abilities to rank combined with their level of opposition faced (the latter moreso for the fighters with less footage like Casanova and Azteca), with other factors like dominance, consistency, etc. playing a role. Standard stuff, really, although I place more emphasis on ability amongst the fighters with whom there is enough footage to come to a solid conclusion.

If you liked the Jofre/Harada bouts, you'll love that one. Fights don't get fought at a higher level, in my opinion.

What type of fighter was Castillo? I can't really admit to having ever seen him fight before.

It's a great fight, Castillo was a great counterpuncher and the perfect foil for Olivares. There are some lovely exchanges in the fight.

How'd you score it, Al? In my opinion it was a very close, very competitive bout that could've reasonably been called a draw, although if I had to give the edge to either man it would've been to Olivares based on his offensive out-put/more damaging blows. I do think Castillo won his fight with Herrera, though.
