if your talking about the first fight I didn't score it and I haven't seen it for a long time but I did have the second fight very close up to the stoppage. Do you know if the rubber match is about? From what I've read Ruben put in a great performance that night. Castillo was about the only figjhter who could give Ruben problems at that time when he was about his peak at bantam.

Think I'll watch the first fight again later and I'll score it. I'll watch the Castillo Herrera fight as well. That's Rafael in my avatar with Zarate, Zamora, Chiquito Gonzalez and my dad., really nice fella!

I was actually referring to the first fight, which I confused for the rematch. Haven't seen the rubber match, so can't comment on it.

Well look at it this way. Yoy have a legion of people on here claiming Harry Greb is the no.1 P4P fighter of all time and they've not seen a single fight, there is absolutely no visual evidence of his talent, yet H2H they pick him over world class fighters from MW - HW based on his resume....

...then you have Ricardo Lopez of who there is visual evidence of his talent and it is perhaps the most impressive display of talent ever seen from a boxer.

Now my argument is that the fighters from Greb's era, with all due respect it is clear to see, they are very primitive, look like **** and wouldnt cut it in the last 40-50 years of boxing.

If they should be judged on how they stacked up in their times, then why shouldnt Lopez be judged on how he stacked up in his division, which is absolutely dominated??

    im just sayin, bra

Because I favor more than a 100 others fighters of whom we have footage of to also finish their careers undefeated if asked to fight the level of opposition Lopez was routinely fighting.

Lopez is not the most impressive fighter I have seen on film, either.

I find it absolutely astounding that you could hold a relatively unproven fighter like Ricardo Lopez in such high regard whilst at the same time bashing and mocking Roberto Duran every chance you get. His victory over Iran Barkley alone eclipses anything Lopez ever accomplished.

Once again a Duran victory(over the mighty Iran Barkley) makes its way into a thread that has absolutely **** all to do with Duran or Barkley.

Its like a medieval christian zealot ****ed an insurance salesman and gave birth to a dozen Robertards and sent their children on a crusade to ESB classic.

What the **** did Harry Greb have to do with Mexican fighters? Your agenda was transparent from the get-go, you almost wanted me to bring Roberto Duran into the equation.

Name one win on Lopez's record better than Duran/Barkley? Just one. Some consistency would be nice. You play down the Barkley victory, but now you're hailing Lopez as maybe the best fighter we have on film? Is that some kind of sick joke, Pachillies?

Harry Greb was the perfect comparison for me to use in this debate.
Alverez and Ohashi were much better fighters than Barkley.

and no:huh its not a sick joke. Who do you rate fundamentally better than Ricardo Lopez??

This is a sick joke - Whats purple, covered in puss and squeals?

Alvarez and Ohashi weren't built like Bantamweights, and Lopez wasn't 37 and in his 20th year as a Professional. Non-comparable.

Fundamentally, Lopez is up there, but I've seen plenty of fighters on film who I consider better than him. More complete. Roberto Duran for one. :yep

You do realize I'm not a Roberto Duran apologist. The excuses wind me up almost as much as they do you, but his win over Barkley takes a steaming dump over anything the Mexican ever accomplished. Irrefutable.

Barkley gets dismissed too much for my liking. He wasn't a great fighter, but he had more than just a big left hook and a good beard. His body work in the Duran fight should have spelled the end for Duran, and he was showing quite a decent jab too...although I think a great deal of them were being slipped.

Barrera over Chavez? No Erik Morales? Daring to say the least.

Care to explain your reasoning, Cobra?
