10 opponents I would perfer for Chavez Jr. Over Ronald Hearns.

Marco Antonio Rubio - A recent notable TKO win over David Lemieux. Marco Antonio Rubio A good fighter slightly past prime that has fought more then 50 bouts before age 31. Rubio Really noted clearly he wants Chavez Jr.

Andy Lee - A young talented Irish fighter. He is fast and exciting in his fights with Craig McEwan, Mamadou Thiam and Troy Lowery. He is a great fighter with future potential. This fight is right on Chavez Jr's level.

Brian Vera Good fighter, nothing more to say. He has wins over Andy Lee, Eloy Suarez, Sergio Mora and Sabastian Demers. He lost close Decisions to Isaac Rodrigues, and Craig McEwan where he could've won easily verses Rodrigues. He also has a notable late TKO loss to James Kirkland. He also has a rematch set to fight Andy Lee. Vera won the first fight by TKO. ( He'll win again. ).

Dimitry Pirog Pirog is an undefeated middleweight titleholder, He has a big win over Daniel Jacobs. A formerly undefeated fighter, Pirog is on Chavez Jr's level.

James Kirkland A knockout artist with wins over Brian Vera and a few other big names. But a surprising KO loss to Japan's Nobuhiro Ishida. Not the best choice but it still beats Ronald Hearns.

Nobuhiro Ishida A recent win over James Kirkland. Not well known in the USA since most bouts were in Asia. But, since he bet Kirkland, a fight with Chavez Jr. might be good.

Sergio Martinez Best of the middleweight division with wins over Paul Williams and Kelly Pavlik. He deserves to get a title and Chavez Jr should face him at some point.

Sergio Mora Yes you heard me. I don't want him to fight Mora. It would be a better fight then then Hearns. Mora has wins over Calvin Green, one win and one loss to Vernon Forest, a close lost to Brian Vera, and a Draw to a past prime Sugar Shane Mosley.

Saul Alvarez Great powerful future mexican championship fighter. The only problem is he is at Light Middleweight and Chavez Jr is a Middleweight. But people want this fight and I hope it happens one day.

Maksym Bursak A young, undefeated fighter with a win over Brian Vera. Still better then Hearns!

I don't want him to fight Mora, Bursak, or Pirog. But these fights are better then Ronald Hearns. Hearns isn't a top 50 fighter. He lost to Harry Joe Yorgey a basic, unknown fighter by TKO.
Chavez Jr. is young, but if you want a title you have to fight top fighters each bout. No Hearns, No Manfredo.

 

Bottom line is when you got a title you must fight people in the top 50. Quillin sounds good too,

 

I wanna see that fight. Canelo is fighting legit fights. Rhodes is legit. Gomez is legit. Next if he fights Angulo or Martirosyan, he is a good titleholder. If not then it's a step down. Saul Alvarez is way more entertaining and I think has way more potential then Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. or his brother, Omar Chavez.
