Personally, I think the 10-9 system already allows for a fair system, the judges just don't utilise it.

I don't think the judges score enough 10-10 rounds and I don't think they score enough 10-8 rounds.

If a fighter dominates in all areas of the scoring system, he should absolutely get a 10-8 round - but it never happens.

My solution? Leave the score as is, add a 13th round. Even rounds are more likely to have draws.

My main issue with it is the round to round scoring often does not accurately reflect what happened in the ring.

While I scored the fight for Peterson myself, I don't think in the round by round scoring Garcia 7-5 is unjust. But with my suggested method. Garcia might have got 7 points where Peterson would get 10.

Aye good idea you even got to troll Broner a bit lol. Im happy enough the way it is just for the excitment but that way would be more fair. They should do a 13th winner takes all round when its tied

Draws are OK. Only decent odds you tend to get at the bookies :yep

if 1 boxer shades 8 rounds and his opponent wins 4 clear you've got a draw. is this fair? i'm unconvinced.

I would say so. If Boxer A only wins those 8 rounds 1-0 then the judge is saying that they can also see an argument for the other fighter in that round.

One of the biggest flaws in the 10 point must system, at least as currently practiced, is the unwritten rule that close rounds or even rounds should not be scored as ties. This is where the most bias creeps in to judging. And it also leads to something even worse, which is makeup rounds.

This, and bring back 15 Round fights.

It's not the scoring system that's flawed. It's the biased nature of viewers.

    This "idea" already exists.

Have you never heard of a 10-8 round???

plenty of rounds in fights have been scored 10-8 even though the knockdown was more of a balance issue for a guy and despite him otherwise winning the round. plus many rounds are impossible to fairly score an edge yet hardly ever do we see a 10-10.

so, yes the system is broken. here is the fix.

10-10. can't tell who won the round.
10-9. one guy seemed to do the most damage in the round.
10-8. one guy clearly dominated the round.
10-7. one guy clearly dominated and plus knocked the other down.

BUT, we'll never see it cause they're ****ing stupid and don't give a **** about fixing it. tradition rules.

Did you actually read the first post where I discuss the 10-8 round?

close but clear suggests otherwise to me. as others have intimated, judges are reticent to apply the must system as flexibly as it could be.
