Certainly been a fan of his ever since the early years. HBO had been hyping him up a bit due to his wins over some past their best days stars (berbick/sullivan) & also some wins & tough fights against up & comers (Sanders/Tua).

I get a lot of **** for being a fan of his, and I completely can understand why. He has been so unmotivated on so many occasions it's ridiculous. The Monte Barrett fight was a joke.

I am curious to see what he does next, though I think it's time to hang em up after one more Win on his belt.

One other thing I'll add, is that while totally dominated in the 2nd Lewis fight he was in pretty awesome shape. I think he still thought he'd land that KO punch eventually but Lewis was so focused it was scary.

The opening round saw Rock land a very viscious body shot that wobbled Lewis briefly, a lot of people don't remember this but watch the footage if you see it. That was about all he did in this fight, he couldn't seem to get the jab pumping like the previous bout.

Great upset. Rahman, may not have been an all time great fighter but he made the most out of ability and was two-time HW champ and was Undisputed.

Passing through your way en route to Durban to run Comrades this May.

Don't think I will have time to stop for a coffe though as it is a flight change.

Probably my favourite Lennox Lewis performance, his jab was beautiful, and that devastating right... man...

If anything I think the loss to Rahman was a good thing for Lewis in the long run, it gave him the wake up call that he needed and returned his focus.

That was one awesome punch Hasim landed on Lewis. Lewis had his gloves up and was smiling, bouncing off the ropes when he bounced right into Rahman's punch. It's one of my favorite knockouts of all time.

What I recall in the second fight was the ridiculous defense of Rahman. If memory serves me correctly, he had both his arms straight out for god only know's why.

Yeah, I think it was towards he end of the third round, Lewis caught Rahman with a good right that sent him reeling back towards the ropes with both his hands out like some ****ing 50's B-movie mummy.

What's most ridiculous is that he did it against Lennox Lewis who had a height and reach advantage over him. It could have worked better against a David Tua.

Something tells me Rahman didn't really have the smartest corner...

Yeah. Rahman's stretched arms reminded me of Schmeling's outstretched arm against Joe Louis, but twice as ridiculous. Muhammad Ali once referred to George Foreman as "the mummy" but he should have saved that nickname for Hasim Rahman 30 years later.
