Excellent. I love Frazier-Quarry 1. Ultraviolent!! Arce was super exciting. Blood pouring down his face. Of course Saad. I saw him live often. Arguello-Escalera as discussed was pure heart. I like MINTER-Vito a lot also. Oddly though, I think Alan did win 13 rds. I am a big fan of both fighters have both their sets and find Minters style soo interesting. A fighter on the cusp of greatness. Great list bud!!!!!!

Yeaaaahhhhh maaaaann. Another year begins age wise , yet thru books films I become more entrenched in the past.. Not a bad deal. I like it there. Besides the Led Zep 50th anniversary book and Peter Grant book, I am reading an interesting historical fiction about my boy Stanley's life called "THE KILLINGS OF STANLEY KETCHEL". I ****in' love it. Great read. Keep throwing brother. Nothing is better than the feeling in the middleof a savage fight. Will I live or die on this day? I choose. My o

Man I love Fullmer vs Paret. EXACTLY WHAT HAG SHOULD HAVE DONE TO LEO. At one point it appears Gene is hitting a heeavy bag. Like his Basilio stoppages too. He just ate up and spit out little guys. Way too physical rough tough unrelenting tenacious. Great list

I'm a fan of that fight too....and nothing against the ill fated Paret...but there was a sort of primitive...and I mean primitive beauty in Gene Fullmer's attack. I used to hear my Dad and my Uncle waaay back when I was a mere boy...talking about FUllmer's crudity...how he shouldn't have beaten SRR, but he did dammit...they'd say, shaking their heads.
Just like, to me, Billy Conn represented the WW2 era...the early 40's....Gene Fullmer represented the 50's....along with Marciano perhaps....to a tee. To me, Gene Fullmer looked like what a fighter was supposed to look like back then ...he was trapped in the 50's like a fly to amber imo.
Benny Paret probably wasn't too high in the IQ department, what, challenging a rough, mean, super strong bull like Fullmer??? Like, didn't he kinda expect what was going to happen?? Nothing but praise and admiration for GF taking no **** off his overmatched opponent...and delivering the goods like he did. Like I said, nothing against Benny Paret, ....it would have been the same whatever welterweight stepping in the ring with the Utah Bull would have gotten.
