Just did it again there, managed 8 mins 54 seconds. I managed to beat 9 mins but that was very, very hard. Having a few beers while watching the fights last night probably didn't help.

Things like the 100 burpee challenge are more of a benchmark to gauge progression, not something you should be doing a few times a week. Maybe a few times a year.

Today's effort: 8 mins 43 seconds. Was hoping to get under 8 and a half minutes. Next time, though.

    Lots....

You can nail 3 point shots, while people are shooting at you.
You can jump from behind bushes and disappear repeatedly.
    Catch flower bouquets at weddings...

    The possibilities are endless.

Seriously though, it's just a conditioning exercise that builds your cardio and muscle endurance - effective cuz you engage a lot of muscles in a single burpee, which makes doing many burpees very hard to do. Therefore, doing 100 and timing it, is a good indicator of how well conditioned you are.

There are various ways burpees can be done. I guess we're not all on the same page.
The way we do them is a complete squat down, onto a push up and finish with a squad jump. Keeping proper form, fast and explosive.

Good ol Crossfit, always over-thinking every movement to make it easier instead of just doing it like everyone else.

I've always done a pushup during a burpeee, now these idiots make it look like there's a back extension involved into a jump. Hilarious.
