So the final fight between the two atg s took place a century ago.
What's your thoughts on the Tunney v Greb series?
Amazing to think Greb was the only guy to get the win over Gene, and what a win too.

I am fascinated by this match up. From what i have read, Tunney used body punching to shut down Greb.

Why couldn't someone film this? Jesus.

I think it's a real shame that there are no videos of the matches between these two great champions. For several experts Greb was the best middleweight ever and unfortunately we can't see a match of his. Surely being the only one to defeat Tunney is a testament to his greatness. From what I know the first match was very tough for Tunney who was heavily defeated. Then there were three substantially close fights in which there was a draw and two victories for The Fighting Marine. And then, in the last match between the two this time it was Tunney who gave a heavy lesson to Greb.

Wasn't the first fight where Tunney was absolutely battered?

Yes, as I wrote the first match was the one in which Tunney was heavily defeated by Greb on points.

Newspaper Reports I've read called the 2nd and 3rd fight for Greb, or at least some papers did. In The last fight between them Greb was fighting with one eye.
