Taylor has the physical tools to have put away his last 3 opponents but for some reason he seems gunshy every time. He has been bigger, stronger and comparable speed-wise to then/to his last 3 opponents yet he's won dodgy/shitty UDs. Not to mention the fights with hopkins. No KOs in his last 5 fights either. I am not a taylor hater, it's just amuzing when people are willing to put money(vbookie or any kind) on this guy just like that.
Ummm, he has arguably beaten arguably the best fighter of this generation....TWICE....in two close fights. Then fought to a tie with one of the top 5 p4p fighters in the world, in another close fight. Then he SHUT OUT (pretty much) a former world champion. Then he beat a former undisputed world champion in another close fight. Taylor is a much better boxer than Pavlik. He has better fundamentals, better footwork, ect. Pavlik is a powerful, swarming fighter...which the best weapon against a fighter like that is quite obviously a great jab....and who just HAAAAAPPENS to have a great Jab? Jermaine Taylor This fight has an easy night for Taylor written all over it. I have YET to hear an arguement for Pavlik other than he is gonna KO Jermaine...yet no explanation (rational one that is) on how he is going to get past his jab and movement to even do it. Taylor by UD...and compukillers avatar will look something like this... This content is protected :rofl :rofl :rofl
That's right . . . I ussually bet just a day before the event so I can bet on other games before that.
darthmage: i dont think he was gunshy, i think ouma knew he was going to go for the knockout as well as spinks and planned accordinlgy. Spinks we all know was going to do that anyways, thats just his style - run and hit as opposed to hit and run. Ouma on the other hand got extremly timid after the 'made in hell' fight. He got abosultely dominated that fight and ouma knew he was vulnurable after that. He seemed way too timid for me in the powell and rubio fight. His plan was pitty pat and to win on points for taylor. His shots seemed like they had no power. Ouma v Junta however, showed ouma landing harder more defenative shots. After the roman fight ouma never fought the same like he did against kofi juntah. Taylor is really fast at punching back once hes hit, to me that is the complete opposite of gunshy. He just needs an opponent to commit to a shot so they leave themselves open when taylor fires back. That is what pavlik will try to do and get mashed with a massive right counter. Miranda seemed to land that right on pavlik. Miranda just cant box or fight backwards which led him to lose (i am a huge miranda fan too btw, he will come back and destroy).
Thanks . . . an open announcement so that everybody will know we have a bet. Believe me I prepared a very special sig for him. :rofl :good
the funny thing about amsterdam thor was that he stated on here that Pavlik should be a 10/1 favorite over Taylor. no way in hell 10/1 favorite. Maybe 70/30 underdog, but i mean cmon.
Let us save all of these threads, to showcase the lack of boxing knowledge from these sad Jermain Taylor apologists. Blocky will be removed for six months. Illmatic for 1. You all who made avatar bets will be sporting what the intelligent fans who picked Pavlik decide to make you sport, especially Thor, who's prediction history includes taking Baldomir over Mayweather. Psychopath will be sporting something that signifies him being owned by the Joe Calzaghe fanbase here for six months. Anyway, I just put 1418 vCash on Pavlik, when I get back my other 1000, it's going in the pot also for a total of 2500+. Easy money.
amsterdam is gonna be the first one to be put on HBOs blocked calls list after his 6th call in the span of the after fight interview stateing his sure facts that pavlik was drugged and that taylors glove padding was removed... im sure of it
