Say I did 200 push an hour
Break in between. An hour break in between

    I've done over 600 in a day
My coach said even though I'm in my 20s I might tear a muscle & I shouldn't 1000 push ups in a day. Do you agree?

My body is spent for two days after doing about 600. I had to overload on food to gain control of my arms the first day doing this lol. I was like 16 & ate a bunch of taco Bell beefy bean burrito.. (Terrible idea they use filler meat)

I agree with it. 1000 is way too much every day. Is that the only form of training you do? Or some type of cardio? Boxing? Those depend as well. I would say to just do 4 sets of 50 each morning and night, having some rest days.

It also depends on what other training you do or what your goals are looking to achieve.

It’s a good idea if you don’t have access to free weights in a gym. If I had no gym I’d be doing around 1000 pushups with variations and sit ups every day as a minimum with burpees and other body weight exercises thrown in.

Can only be good for conditioning your shoulders for endurance in boxing, for throwing jabs and keeping your gloves up.

You won’t tear a pec from doing that. You tear pecs and rotator cuffs from poor form. Learn how to keep your elbows tucked in and you’ll be fine.

1,000 pushups per day won't injure you. You'll be conditioned and strong .

I don't really see the purpose. Push-ups are great, but there's no need to do 1000 a day - and depending on your goals, a normal free weights programme is most likely a better idea.
