And yet some would say it's not even the best fight of that era of 130lbers....and Arguello-Pryor I took place just a few weeks before....extreme violence at it's most beautiful.

The whole fight is a good one, but the 5th round is amazing:

Funnily enough, KOTV reminded me of the fight last night when it was featured in its top knockouts of all time list :yep

I swear every pressure fighter should watch and study Chavez. Fighting him must've been like being thrown into the deep end without knowing how to swim.

He just stayed on point, his defense was underrated too. I just love pressure fighters who understand 'pressure fighting'. Chavez was the ultimate. He could drown you without throwing any punches, because he understood the pressure points and put you under constant mental fatigue.

He would keep touching you, aiming shots at your shoulder and hips and invade your space.

One of his secrets was what he use to do in training.

i dont think this should be FOTY candidates btw. also total dominations and boxing clinics.

it should be like a "what is boxing in 100 fights"

another shout would be Froch vs Pascal. You got to have a Naz fight in there to.

Technically Chavez was superb. A brilliant pressure fighter who knew when to punch, for example when he had an injured hand against Lockridge. Taylor was outlanding him, but look at the state of him.

As for Chavez, I saw you post recently that you think he may've been up to summat dodgy. Care to elaborate?

    Naz Vs Kelley :yep

As for Froch-Pascal, absolutely no chance.

I agree that 'clinics' should be on here as well, hence why I suggested Khaokor-Moon II.

Other fairly comprehensive wins with some great technical work:

    Monzon-Benvenuti I
    Leonard-Benitez
    Napoles-Cokes I
Ali-Liston I (think I suggested the latter two already)
Duran Vs Palomino (already suggested by...Vano I think)
    Locche Vs Fuji
Sweet Pea Vs Any number of his opponents, for historical relevance, Chavez
    Harada Vs Kingpetch I
    Herrera Vs Olivares I
    Park Vs Canto

Cheers, have seen Lee get spanked by Hagler and one other of his fights that I can't recall, so I'll take a look at this.

Fair enough but you made a comment about summat that wasn't entirely kosher I'm sure :think

Willing to share your hypothesis in a PM? I'd appreciate it :good
