Oh yeah, finally it's on for November 1.

We know that both don't like each other.

They have one common opponent in Castillejo - Sturm lost via KO and edged out a decision whereas Sylvester KOed the Spanish veteran in what looked like a career-ender.

Felix is the far more accomplished amateur and technically more sound.

Sebastian, since being TKOed by Finn Amin Asikainen in June of 2006, steadily progressed and has kinda ******-like arms - Though Sylvester is about the same height as former 147 champion Miguel Angel Cotto, standing 5'7", his long reach make up for Sturm's height advantage (4 inches).

Both don't have the best chin but Sylvester showed more grid and phyiscal strength to withstand punches whereas Sturm's guard sometimes looks a bit fragile same as his psyche.

Sturm's level of opponents regressed since winning the WBA title back from Castillejo - Sylvester -in the same time frame- beat Asikainen and Castillejo by KO.

Speed is on Felix side but Sebastian seems to have catched up in the footwork department.

Sturm's promoter Universum won the purse bid with a sum of nearly $3 million and has kinda hometown advantage as the fight is held at the König-Pilsner-Arena in Oberhausen ( subsuming 10,000 seats) which is about 30 miles away from Sturm's hometown.

So who will win and if you want add further facts/opinions to this really intrigueing match up between the No.2 and 3 contender (according to "The Ring") at middleweight feel free to do so... :hi:

well, I pick Sturm, he just is all around the better fighter also Sylvester got better over his last few fights. I will root for Sylvester though. Should make for a good fight.

IT´s about 50:50 for me. A prime, top motivated sturm will win a decision but if he tries to bang with Sylvester he will get tfko. Sturm has by far the better technical backround, but is no knockouter. Sylvester is a very good conterboxer and has more pop in his fists.

    Pretty difficult call.

I'll go Sylvester on recent performances and improvement. He's on an upward curve...Sturms is more of a straight line, or even downward.

Well, Taylor and Mundine are smws not mws. Wright is more or less retired and even when he comes back, we don´t know if he still is as good as before his little pause. Pavlik and Abraham are the only world class fighters at mw right now. The next best guys at mw at the moment are Sturm and Sylvester but both are "only" European class - that´s still very good but not top notch.

Mundine has moved to MW, or at least claims he has.

I like Sylvester in this one. Sturm doesn't seem to be all there anymore.

Well, Mundine hasn´t fought at mw yet and even then he has to prove he isn´t affected by the weight drain.

When talking of Germany's biggest fight in 8 years, I have to naturally exclude the Klitschkos, so this is really the biggest fight including 2 German boxers.

I really don´t understand Sturm. I mean, this has been talked over for like 1000 times, so I won´t bother... maybe he lost his hunger when he became a minor star after DLH fight? Kinda funny. The guy was ROBBED and LOST a fight, and became such a big name that he lost his hunger, before he even peaked? Is this what has happened? Strange...

Well, this fight will surely fold the truth a bit. Sturm, in his peak, should beat Sylvester solidly. Sylvester is very sharp, accurate and tactical fighter, who has a good right cross. He has a bad chin though. I actually think that Sturm, if he has that eye of the tiger deep inside him somewhere, should be able to TKO Sylvester... but if gets carried away and fights like a chicken, Sylvester can knock him out cold as well... anyway, I think that Sturm has more potential than Sylvester, and he could become the no. 1 middleweight, BUT he needs to really bring it on and find that champion´s heart. So far, during his WBA rule, he hasn´t had that.
