Top five most joy-filled RBR of all my years here. :D

So much good came from this. First, the obnoxiously brash self-styled "heir apparent" to Floyd Mayweather Jr. lost his zero and his aura in one fell swoop - all that "about billions", new apex predator and number one star in the sport talk pretty much fizzled after this. Plus, the well-liked Argentinian banger was able to cement himself in the history books with a legitimate world championship victory (rather than simply being elevated from WBA interim) - a cathartic moment of redemption after in many observers' view being robbed in his first attempt down at 140lbs versus Kotelnik - and, to boot, punched his ticket into a Mayweather payday.

It even benefitted Mayweather himself, as Maidana with a full WBA title became a more appealing opponent than prior frontrunner Amir Khan (a mere WBC silver titlist at that point). I think most fans can agree that despite their h2h result, Maidana was the bigger stylistic nightmare and provided the more thrilling challenge than Khan might've.

Absolute banger of a fight. And while Broner did get his ass handed to him, he fought admirably in the championship rounds and gave it his all. Nothing but drama and excitement for 12 straight rounds.

Also, Maidana was a big ass welterweight, something I myself and many others overlooked. I thought AB would beat him, and I thought Floyd would TKO him with body shots.
Maidana´s run post Alexander was spectacular. I can´t put it into words just how much I UwU over the clear evolution he had during that time. So rare to see a boxer improve so drastically in a relatively short time period.

I never wanted to see a man in the ring get their ass beat as bad as Broner. Then the walk out of the arena, people throwing trash at him. Not condoning fan behavior like that, but I understand it. Very satisfying to watch. LOL
