A mild anticlimax, when compared with the accomplishment it would've seemed prior to Pacquiao's victory over a larger/greater man than Ricky in Oscar De la Hoya six months earlier or then undefeated Hatton's loss to Mayweather in 2008 - but still a good win (Hatton looked poor versus Lazcano but then showed he was still top drawer against Malignaggi), and perhaps among Pac's best for how emphatic it was.

I'd put this amongst Pacquiao's four greatest career wins / performances, along with Barrera I, Marquez II and Cotto. The year of 2009 was Pacquiao's absolute zenith. He just looked phenomenal against Hatton and Cotto.

Absolutely agree - this was his peak year. I think he had a real chance at this point of beating Mayweather.

I've always thought to myself that Ricky was hyperventilating on his back. It was my impression that he was taking such deep and rapid breaths to get oxygen to his brain so that he could stay alive.

Crazy to think it’s been exactly eleven years to the date. Hard to believe. Feels just like yesterday. This was one of the most hyped up days of my sports watching life. From the moment I woke up, to the devastating and heartbreaking ending. :ohno

hatton was coming off whooping Malignaggi and 140 was considered his best weight after his two dreadful performances at 147. Pacquiao was obviously the better fighter but with him being so small at 140 a lot of people thought it was a step too far for Pac.

Noone expected that type of domination.

Why was that ruled a TKO?

There was nothing technical about that KO....
