    Ive never given JC high praise for this performance. Only watched it live but kinda feel he just outworked an older technician that imo would have beaten him a few years earlier.

    If I ever have a life again I'll rewatch it with my hater glasses off (not a fan of JC)

    Not quite 116-111 but yeah I scored it at the time 116-113 to Hopkins. 6 rounds to Hopkins, including the 1st round knockdown, 4 to Calzaghe and 2 even.

    scored it recently on the recent scores thread I had joe by a slim margin

    what I think the difference really was is the fact Joe never got discouraged and never gave up. so many opponents vs Hopkins start getting countered and the class from bernard comes out and they wilt

    joe just kept on coming, bernard would land a good shot and joe would will himself back in with a flurry. he also was the only guy I've seen get into the rough housing with bernard and win that game

    I mean, yeah, 99% of Joe's "punches" were slaps but tbf, a slap is still counted as validly legal depending on where it lands. Are you positing that most of Joe's shots were low, or rabbit punches, or...? If they land in the designated permissible areas, then scoring contact is scoring contact...

    Yeah IB but if you read the MofQ rules they state To be a scoring punch it must be delivered by the knuckle part of the glove In the old days hitting with the inside of the glove (slapping) was illegal & called lacing
