I did it by scoring it in my head (going back and forth with all of the people at my house watching it...1 had it for Hopkins 114-113, 1 for Joe 115-112)...this is how I always do it, I think when ya right it down, you can always look down at it and talk yourself out of it. I like to score it spontaneously (how the judge would have to do it), then go back and score it more meticulously later...but I will post my scorecard probably tomorrow, when I have the time to watch it again.
I did too. Joe just took over the fight by the fourth round. His jab started connecting well and often, his left hook started landing with more power and became shorter and straighter as the fight wore on. His speed of foot and jab kept forcing Hopkins to back up along the ropes and at times to cower in the corners. As Manny pointed out when Hopkins bulled forward Joe was at his best flurrying to Hopkins head and backing quickly out of range or forcing Bernard to hold on. Joe just dominated the fight from 4 th round on. Hopkins faked being hurt and rested awhile in the 10th so was a bit more competitive but that was chicken**** behavior so I gave that round to Joe on principle.
I'm surprised there's not more "even" rounds on peoples scorecards. I know typically judges don't like them, or so we're told anyway, but you still see them more often than not in fan scorecards. I personally think that a number of rounds were extremely close and "swing" rounds, as Kellerman put it. My one even round was probably being generous, even.
Nah, he should have been able to annihilate him... I always put big expectations in my favourite's, Calzaghe won easily, but this was not what I was looking for here.
