114-113 Hopkins, so says the Associated Press, ESPN.com and many ESBers.

#1. I wasn't aware that marks on a fighter's face lost him any points.

#2. Dan Raphael is a douche bag.

#3. I can clearly see with my own 2 eyes which fighter won.

I had it 114-113 as well.

    For Calzaghe, though.
I thought he deserved it and B-Hop really only has himself to blame...much like the Taylor fights, his negative style pissed off the judges.

damond, i agree i think holyfield said that defensive fighters never get decsions as th judges reward positive fighters. I really thought Bhop learnt his lesson in the taylor fights but he probably knew but he was so tired he just couldn't find anymore gears as he needed a rest in round 10.

Most boxing journalists are filling time and building their cv in boxing in order to eventually get their dream job writing abut NFL or some **** for Sports Illustrated.

Most of them don't watch or think about boxing half as much as your average fan.

They aren't all-knowing gurus just because they happen to be good writers in general who get paid for writing.

It is an absolute outrage that they stole the fight from Hopkins. Total bull****. I have watched the fight three times. 116-111 Hopkins. For the easily influenced yes, the HBO commentators would have you believe that Calzaghe won. Manny ****ing steward claiming Hopkins was off ballance all night. Somebody give me a break in the nuts please! Max "Bart Simpson" kellerman. "Hopkins tired old arms" are you ****ing kidding me? All they kept talking about was Joe is starting to get his rhythm, Joe is starting to get his rhythm, while Hopkins had his the whole night. Hopkins was schooling Joe somthing facinorous, slipping and ducking damn near every punch! And the compubox stats? Please. For the easily influenced I encourage you to watch that fight with the mute on and the bottom of the screen covered and then honestly tell me who won. :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire

I scored the bout 114-113 in favor of Hopkins, but I will be the first to admit that, despite this, Joe DESERVED to win.

My scorecard was admittedly biased, and I knew that Hopkins had let this one slip away. He was beaten by the better man, no shame in that.

    Give Calzaghe his due.

I had it 115-112 for Calzaghe but can see how people could have scored the fight in favor Hopkins. Some of the rounds were extremely hard to score with Joe throwing more punches but Hopkins landing the more meaningful ones. I just gave it to Joe simply based on total punch output

There is a thread dedicated to excuses, whining and tears.
    Please post there. Thx.

Oh, and I watched the fight in a bar full of americans, so rather than being influenced by commentators and Compubox stats (which I never take as gospel anyway) I was surrounded by X-cheerleaders who ignored all the clinching and practically jizzed every time Hopkins landed a punch on Joe's guard.

Most of them were very quiet by the end of the fight, and few claimed "robbery".

I scored a close but clear victory for Calzaghe. I can see a case for a close Hopkins decision if you think one or two punches cancel out solid if unspectacular work in rest of the round.

    But "robbery"? :verysad
    Laughable.
