114-113 Hopkins, so says the Associated Press, ESPN.com and many ESBers.

I am a Calzaghe-fan and I honestly scored it 115-112 for Hopkins. Feel free to call me stupid or disagree, but that's personally how I saw the contest.

Ineffective aggression on the part of Calzaghe. He did not land clean shots, did not hurt his opponent.

I didnt vote on that ****..lol I am damned for sure there were 350+ euro posters voting. The thing is you ingrates cant pick and choose which fights you want to apply the rules too. Some fights you see a guy land a lot of nothing shots and the other guy land big hurtful shots and the same assholes would give the guy that landed the lesser and more meaningful shots the nod. I can bring up a million examples of guys who get outlanded but still win the fight. Being as most of Calzaghes compubox scoring shots were not clean or POWER shots which is laughable to call that **** a power shot b/c it is not a jab. I had Calzaghe winning b/c bhop did not use his left hand enough after he landed his flush right hands on Calzaghes chin, body etc etc. Calzaghe landed 3 hard shots that whole fight. We here in american dont acknowledge those bull**** girly whirly slaps equal to real punch output thrown with proper technique. Calzaghe will not ever grow a fanbase here slapping. My girl even said he fights funny though she said Bhop fights like an old man which he does and we all know this before hand.

It's a close fight. I call this "the usual". I have it to Calzaghe by a single point. I rewatched it and I had it to Calzaghe by a single point. The judges had it to Calzaghe.

Who gives a **** what these guys think? I am a Hopkins fan, a big one, and I wanted Bernard to win. I understand the frustration in this close type of fight when it's your man that loses because my man did.

Time to stop whining and start building a bridge. Cazlaghe WPTS Hopkins. If some think otherwise they are in the minority.

It was a sloppy and boring fight that Hopkins did not win. I would have been happy with a draw but a Hopkins victory I did not see.

Then you didn't watch the fight... Emmanuel had it right, Joe was the aggressor for most of the fight- all Bernard did was throw a solid punch every once in a blue moon. You can' t win a fight like that against a constant puncher like Joe unless you dominate him or hurt him with your big shots. Hopkins didn't dominate or hurt Calzaghe, ergo he lost. Sorry.
The bottom line though is that neither fighter got destroyed or seriously hurt at all, but on the numbers you just can't give it to Bernard. if you do, you're just like all the misguided folks that chose to vote for Bush. You are welcome to your opinion, but it's wrong (a lot more sorry on this one).

". . . slapper, constant slapper like Joe" is what you meant to say and I must reiterate the fact that one is awarded zero points for slapping his opponent and one is also awarded zero points for spectacularly combination slapping the thin air. This isn't a domestic dispute, this is a boxing match. One ought to throw punches, not slaps.

EFFECTIVE AGGRESSION is the name of the game. Operative word, effective. If that were not the case they wouldn't bother to put the word effective in front of the word aggression.

Hopkins did NOT win that fight:nono

I've been a Hopkins fan a long time and just as with Taylor fights? He got out boxed. Or more slowed down through the latter half.

Hopkins used his craft with the low blow "breaks" to stop Cal's rhythym because JC finally found his pace and was landing his jab and left hands.

It was CLOSE and I salute B-Hop's. I knew he was motivated and I feel gave a great effort. He fell just short.

Personally? I had it 115-112 JC. Though I have no problem with 114-113 JC either.

Calzaghe fans who went all out predicting Ko's should now have much more respect for B-Hop who as I expected gave the best of what he had left.

I don't if this has been mentioned, but a lot of the time the newspaper score the fight for the fighter that loses a close fight. Many newspapers had Mosley winning the Cotto fight, and so do many having Marquez winning his last fight with Pacman. The difference here is those were legitimately close fights. This fight Calzaghe won, diehard Bernard fans just can't let it go!
