There is rarely a fight these days where no even rounds have been scored. It fairer, something we need to be looking to do in boxing where there is so much corruption and robberies.
Yeah, I like even rounds. I think a lot of people over use them though. An even round is a good way of backing out of making a decision when a round is very close. I would probably only score 1 even round every 5 or 6 fights.
At worst, it means that despite the fact that he fought in the US, the judges weren't biased against him. But yeah, he won 4 rounds at best. I had him winning 3, which was 2 more than most of the people on my website had for him. Almost everyone had it 119-109 Ward, 118-110 at best. That includes about a dozen Brits. I personally thought rounds 1-3 were all very close, but after that it was very clear that Froch won only one round, and the round he won he very clearly won.
I really don't know either. I think this is the first fight in a while I thought won convincingly in a dominating fashion yet two guys had it 7 rounds to 5??? I wonder if they were on crack. But I had it like the British guy. 10 rounds to 2 for Ward. I only gave round 5 and 9 for Froch.
So you get bad scores for someone who isn't the hometown guy or the house fighter, and people still complain? Seriously, what we really need is just plain better judges. I seriously think most of these "robberies" are competence issues as much as anything.
People should be outraged. You just need to have 2 judges in your pocket to get the nod for your guy. Clearly the 2 judges who had 115-113 had an agenda. You know u got destroyed when the judges who are pulling for you still can't find a way in hell to give it to you. 118-110 was on the money.
So exactly what agenda did they have? Ward was closer to being the hometown guy. Ward was the house fighter. Ward was the guy more likely to get the judges more work in the future. Do you really think someone paid them off to still have Froch lose?
Same here. I thought 3 could have gone either way and if you REALLY loved Froch, like you were related to him or something you could have given him 3 and 11. I had it 118-110. 116-112 would have been pushing it far. 115-113 is out of bounds. Keith
i'm sure this has been said a million times before, but judges should be more accountable for their scorecards. Yes, judging is to a certain extent is subjective, but those judges who gave 115-113 should be forced to do a commentary over the fight to explain how exactly they got there.
