Because it's far more accurate than just guessing a winner of the round, if you can't separate the fighters for 6 rounds and the other 6 rounds are clear then you're going to get the right winner aren't you if you score those rounds even. Everybody should give even rounds if we want more accurate scorecards. It's simple maths, why would you possibly change the result of a fight by scoring a round 10-9 when you couldn't say with confidence who really won the round?
because it is what it is. in official scorecards, judges are strongly encouraged not to score even rounds. so if you are scoring a fight, to make it realistic, you have to pick a winner for each round. if you score an even round for a fight, then I'm not going to take you seriously, cos it's just the way it is, whether you like it or not.
I can see def at least 3 rounds for froch, maybe 4 at the most. If there were a few shots that the judges didn't see because of angles for ward and a few they did see for froch, it could be closer. You got to remember these judges don't have a rotating camera's view of the action, they get too look at one angle and that's it. We got to look at experience too, who knows how many title fights these judges have under their belt. Anyway it's easy to sit back and call it a disgrace until you have walked a mile in their shoes. anyway just my 2 cents.
again these are not judges sitting up in a booth with 360 degree access to a fight, they get one angle and one angle only. I doubt it's incompetence. Is it 100% fair...no....but it's all we have.
you are missing the point. whether you think it is fairer or not doesn't matter. in today's boxing, apart from maybe one in a million fights, judges don't score even rounds.
I think I could have given Froch at a push 1, maybe 3, maybe umm 12 and maybe another. He got dominated though
Shockinhhhhg! I switched off right after the fight and jjust before they announced the decision / score cards. I thought Froch getting anything more than two rounds was delusional! Froch got dominated.
I loved the expression on carls face when the 115-113 scorecard was read. He was so pleasantly surprised and had that little smirk knowing himself he didnt deserve it lol
