i have been keeping tabs on this thread to see how long it would be before all the clowns ive seen insulting guys like hurd, spence, etc... you know, all the big dark dudes, would come in and treat this mcdonnell kid like a cheating piece of trash weight bully, just to keep it consistent.
Guess what? all those phags i expected to trash mcdonnell like they do the not so light skinned fighters, either avoided the thread or are more concerned with mcdonnells safety than his previously despised behaviour. go figure.

This is why I don’t believe in this weight bullying crap. This guy would have probably done better at super bantam but he lost all those pounds to try and gain an advantage and he got whooped.

What bully do you know gets flattened in one rounds? People make too much of this weight bully crap, it don’t exist, if you can make weight then it’s all good, you have done your job on that side of things.

exactly. everyone has the same options to cut weight. if youre too chickenchit to face the supposed bully in your division, then move down and avoid bullies. whats that, you cant cut weight like he can? so you want me to penalize him, for being genetically superior? do you want a participation trophy too?
what happens is, some poster comes up with a narrative that serves his favorite fighter, then all the other posters who dont know any better, run with the narrative because it also serves their particular favorite fighter, and you end up up with what appears to be a general belief at esb general forum.

I'm no doctor but I can google medical data.

Anything around and slightly over 10% weight gain poses risks. 15% can cause seriously diminished reflexes, impaired vision and difficulty maintaining balance. The term of these symptoms sometimes persist longer than 24 hours.

20% (which is going from 118 to over 141.6) you're in the realm of potential permanent organ damage, brain damage and cardiac arrest. A couple decades ago NCAA wrestling had 3 varsity deaths in one year and completely revamped their weigh in protocols. Boxing cut 15 rounds down to 12 partially based on science of dehydration and low cranial fluid levels. Lower brain fluids increase the risk of concussion. Punch resistance is significantly marginalized.

I haven't watched much of McDonell's fights. So I don't know if his hand speed and reflexes seemed normal but he looked stiff, slow and confused against Inoue.

Yep people only use the weight bully reason when the naturally bigger man is winning. If he gets smoked or looks awful they rarely say anything about it. It’s such an easy thing to get wrong, you have to know when to move up or you end up like selby when he fought Warrington, just completely flat and lacking strength.
